Supported Versions
- 1.12.2
Major:
- Added a "Freeze" effect. This will turn water into ice. If a player is hit by freeze they won't be able to look around or move.
- Added a "Charm" effect. This will force a neutral entity to breed. If a player is hit, that player will be forced to look at the spell caster.
- Updated the entire mod into the "Kotlin" programming language. (https://kotlinlang.org/) This language is easier to work with and should make modding more efficient. Kotlin is completely compatible with Java and should run like any other Java mod. I have tested it and found no bugs, but since literally every line of code (40,000+ lines) has been updated there's bound to be bugs somewhere.
- Updated mod localization. All research text (title, tooltip, and text) is now localizable in the lang file. I also updated all localization keys to be consistent with the Minecraft standard. (Example, structure.dark_forest is now structure.afraidofthedark:dark_forest.name)
- Updated the custom font renderer to support more languages. For more information, see the note at the bottom of the changelog.
Minor:
- Added an option for the "laser" effect to hit liquids or pass through them.
- Updated the "Cleanse" effect. It will now unfreeze and uncharm the player as well as removing potion and fire effects.
- Added the ability to scroll using your mouse wheel.
Bug Fixes:
- Chaining "Delay" delivery methods no longer crashes your game.
- Fixed spell cost going negative and giving the player levels.
Language support notes:
- I won't be able to do translations myself (I only speak German and English), but I have hopefully set it up in a way that others can easily translate the mod.
- The default Afraid of the Dark font only supports a few languages. These are: Afrikaans, Albanian, Catalan, Dutch, English, Estonian, Finnish, German, Italian, Portugese, Spanisch, Swedish, and Zulu.
- If your research text has a lot of question marks in it, it means the characters aren't supported by the default font. To fix this, enable 'Use Calibri Font' in the afraidofthedark.cfg file. This font takes more memory and longer to initialize, but supports 34 languages. If your language still isn't supported, let me know and I can try and find one that works.
