ActualPortals 2.0.0 — Fabric 1.21.11
Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
2.0.0
1.0.0 only ever went out as a single Fabric build for 26.1.x. This is that same mod, built out to everything I could get it running on: Minecraft 1.21.1 through 26.2, on Fabric, Forge and NeoForge. 38 builds in total. Grab the one matching your version and loader.
That's the whole reason for the version jump. If you're already on 26.1.x with Fabric, nothing changes for you except the number.
What it does, if you're new here
Nether portals stop being purple swirls. You look at one and you see the other dimension through it, live, from wherever you happen to be standing. Then you walk through. No loading screen, no fade to black, no camera snap. You keep your momentum and come out the other side mid-stride.
You can reach through too. Aim at a block on the far side and you can break it, place against it, open a chest, hit whatever's standing there. Mobs, dropped items and anything you throw come through on their own, and they keep the speed they had.
If you've got several portals in view, each one shows its own destination.
Before you install
You need CodxLib. Your launcher should pull it in for you, but check that first if the game won't start.
The see-through view is singleplayer only for now. On a server the portals look completely ordinary, but walking through one still works the way it does in singleplayer: instant, no loading screen, both directions, mobs and items included. Making the view work on servers means streaming the far dimension out to your client, and I haven't built that yet.
Shader packs are untested and I'd expect them to fight with the portal rendering. If you run one and things look wrong, start there.
