Description

The world had been devastated by desertification, and what communities remain have been besieged and oppressed by the perpetrators of the amethyst trade. What will you do in this hellscape of a world?

Distant hoodoos behind a jungle river delta

Sunset City

A desert city with a pyramid temple against a beautiful jungle sunset. Most of the city's streets and alleys are completely enclosed due to the heat.

This mod adds in several new biomes and structures to explore. Within these new biomes, you can find the materials necessary to unleash the inherent abilities hidden within the runes of the armor trims and pottery sherds through the power of amethyst. These abilities range from arrow rain to deep dark transformation to summoning meteors. There exist mighty enemies to fight against to raid their temples and fortresses, and there are multiple power systems in play that one can take to advance forward in this harsh landscape.

If you are having difficulties progressing, look at the advancements page: "The Adventure Begins," or look here at this description for an explanation of the items, mechanics, and controls.

I am so proud of how far this mod has come along, and it would mean the world to me if you would leave a comment with some suggestions! I have big plans for the future of this project and would love to have some more ideas to help me along. Enjoy!

Items:

  • Energy Field Cannon: A melee or ranged weapon that acts as an energy-field rail gun. If the player is wearing an energy field generator, then they can charge up an attack determined by the player's accrued voltage. If a player holds a field cannon that corresponds to the field generator that they are wearing, it becomes stronger.
  • Energy Field Generator: Armor that can produce an energy field around the player until it runs out of battery. When an armor trim is combined with a field generator in a smithing table, the energy-field takes on the properties hidden within said armor trim.

All 17 field generators, all 17 energy cannons, the field detector, and the field pulse armor

The crafting recipes should appear in your crafting book when you break a crate.

Mechanics:

  • The player can acquire a "voltage" that can increase the extent of the effects of the item. The more damage that a player takes while wearing a field generator, the more voltage the player accrues. The higher the voltage is, the more protection the field generator provides, and the more powerful charged attacks are.

the five main ranks of the amethyst trader faction, with the higher ranks (left) having much higher average voltage than the lower ranks (right).

  • Temperature: the environments can be very harsh, and some areas may have temperatures so high or low that they can negatively affect the player. The temperature involves many different factors. Some blocks even have different rates of heat transfer.
  • Recruitment: The player can recruit revolutionaries for the cause! To recruit a revolutionary, simply right click on one that has not been recruited.

Controls:

  • Field cannon:
    • Swing/attack: left click
    • Charge up attack: [V] (can be changed in settings)
