Nix’s Killzone is a fully automated, team-based first-person shooter experience built entirely within Minecraft Java 1.20.1. It transforms the game into a tactical 5v5-style arena match, featuring a complete lobby system, automatic team assignment, class-based kits, death handling, and smart respawn mechanics — all managed through a robust datapack.
When players join, they’re placed into a dynamic lobby with visible armor stand avatars and clickable “Ready” buttons. Once everyone is ready, the match begins with a cinematic countdown and team randomization into Alpha Squad and Bravo Squad. Each team is deployed to its designated spawn on Grady Memorial Hospital, a gritty, close-quarters map built for tactical engagements. Players choose from four specialized kits — Operator, Support, Specialist, and Scout — each equipped with unique modded weapons and armor from the TACZ, Survival Instinct, and Superb Warfare mods, giving every class its own defined combat role.
The combat loop features smart systems for immersion and balance: players who die enter spectator mode to view the battlefield from above, can only choose kits while dead, and are automatically redeployed after a short countdown. The game includes a custom health and regeneration system (with natural regen disabled), a visible health display beneath player names, and a dynamic scoreboard that tracks kills, deaths, and team progress. Behind the scenes, repeating command functions constantly manage states — tracking whether players are in-lobby, in-match, or respawning — to ensure seamless transitions and bug-free gameplay even with 10 players at once.
Altogether, Nix’s FPS combines the structure of a tactical shooter with the creativity of Minecraft’s sandbox, offering a clean, professional, and immersive multiplayer system — one that feels less like a minigame and more like a full-fledged FPS built inside Minecraft.
