What is Mob Heads Drop?

In vanilla Minecraft only a handful of mobs drop heads — Creeper, Skeleton, Wither Skeleton, Zombie and the Dragon. Every other mob is just ignored. Mob Heads Drop changes that by adding head drops to all 63 mobs in the game, each with a custom player head that has the correct skin texture for that mob.

The drop works through loot table overrides. Each mob has a 10% chance to drop its head when killed by a player — you will not get heads from mob-on-mob kills or fall damage. Looting enchantment increases the chance by 5% per level, so Looting III brings it up to 25% per kill. The Warden has a higher base drop chance of 20% to account for how difficult it is to find and kill, and Wither Skeleton and Elder Guardian sit at 15%.

This is a pure data pack — no mods required, no Fabric, no Forge. Just drop it in your world's datapacks folder and it works immediately. It is compatible with any other data packs that do not also modify mob loot tables.

How to Install

This is a .zip data pack — do not extract it. Install the zip file as-is.

Step	Action
1	Download the .zip file — do not unzip it
2	Open your world in Minecraft Java, go to Edit — Open World Folder
3	Place the .zip file inside the datapacks folder
4	Load your world and run /reload in chat to activate

For a server, place the .zip in the server's world/datapacks folder and run /reload.
