What's new

# DAI Survival Interface v0.1

## Initial Release

- Added the first standalone **DAI Survival Interface**
- Explicitly declared the datapack as a DAI **ADDON**
- Designed to run alongside other DAI addons and main experiences

## Target Interface

- Added automatic target recognition when aiming at a living entity
- Targets can be identified **before combat begins**
- Added target-name display
- Added current health display
- Added maximum health display
- Added one-decimal health precision
- Added native health progress bar
- Added approximate target-range display
- Added one-decimal range presentation

## Targeting System

- Added forward aim-ray target detection
- Uses 0.25-block ray steps for approximate range measurement
- Resolves the first living non-player entity intersected by the aim ray
- Added a **2.5-second target-lock grace period**
- Prevents the HUD from immediately disappearing during brief crosshair misses
- Keeps target presentation substantially more stable during movement and combat

## True Screen-Space UI

- Replaced the previous world-space pseudo-HUD approach
- Survival Interface does **not** spawn `text_display` HUD entities
- Uses Minecraft's native bossbar HUD for dynamic screen-space information
- Added dynamic bossbar health value and maximum-health synchronization
- Added dynamic target-name, HP, and range text
- Uses a native red progress-style health bar

## Multiplayer Handling

- Added **eight isolated HUD lanes**
- Each initialized player receives a dedicated interface lane
- Designed to prevent target information from overlapping between local/LAN players

## Addon Separation

- Contains no floating combat-damage number logic
- Damage feedback is handled independently by **DAI Damage Indicators**
- Designed so Survival Interface and Damage Indicators can be installed together or separately

## Controls

- Added per-player enable support
- Added per-player disable support
- Added toggle command support
- HUD automatically hides while disabled

## Compatibility

- Built for **Minecraft Java 26.2**
- Built for **DAI 1.9.5**
- No resource pack required
- The old **DAI Damage Indicators HUD v0.x** addon should be removed when installing Survival Interface because it is a separate legacy pack and will continue spawning its old world-space HUD if left enabled
