i am releasing one of my craziest projects ever. So we all know how enchanting works in minecraft right? You just get some lapis and books and click a button and hopefully get sharpness or smite. It is very random and honestly a bit boring. But what if your sword actually grew with you? What if your weapon evolved based on exactly how you play the game? That is why I made this Weapon Evolution addon. It completely changes combat by making your weapons level up and adapt to the monsters you kill instead of just using an enchanting table.

How the Evolution System Works

So when you first craft a sword or axe or mace it is just a normal weapon. But every time you kill a mob the weapon absorbs its soul. At 50 kills your weapon reaches the Awakened level. At 200 kills it becomes Bloodthirsty and at 500 kills it reaches the max Legendary level. The coolest part is the Adaptive Affinity system. The weapon tracks exactly what you are killing. If you kill mostly undead mobs like zombies and skeletons it will automatically enchant itself with Smite. If you hunt spiders in mineshafts it learns Bane of Arthropods. If you kill blazes in the nether it gets Fire Aspect. And if you just kill everything randomly without a target it defaults to Sharpness. It is literally tailoring itself to your playstyle.

When you hit 50 kills and awaken the weapon it gets level 2 or 3 of those enchantments. At 200 kills it upgrades to level 4 or 5 and announces it to the whole server. But when you hit 500 kills the crazy stuff happens. A lightning bolt strikes you from the sky and your weapon becomes Legendary. It gets max damage enchants plus Unbreaking 3 and Looting 3 automatically. You dont even need an anvil anymore. Also you get an Evolution Compass when you join the world. Just sneak while holding the clock and a UI menu opens where you can see all your weapon stats and dominant affinities. In the menu you can see your total lifetime kills and how many weapons you have forged in your entire playthrough. You can also click on Your Weapons and see a list of every active soul weapon in your inventory and exactly how many kills are remaining until the next evolution. It is very helpful.

Sentient Weapons and Kill Streaks

I also added a feature where the weapon actually becomes alive. When your weapon hits the 500 kill Legendary mark it becomes Sentient. This means the weapon will literally talk to you. If you go on a killing spree and get a 10 or 25 kill streak within a few seconds, the weapon will send messages in the chat saying things like THE HUNGER GROWS or Feed me more souls. It really feels like you are holding a cursed magic sword. Also there is a 2 percent lucky bonus on every kill where the weapon just eats a lot of souls at once and gives you bonus progress.

Oh and I also added particle effects. When you hold a level 200 weapon it drips magic wax particles. And if you hold a 500 kill weapon it constantly emits enchanting table letters floating around you so everyone knows you have a god tier weapon. The multiplayer experience is awesome too. When you get a Bloodthirsty or Legendary weapon the chat literally broadcasts your achievement to the entire realm so your friends know to be scared of you. You can check the exact souls needed for the next level right in the item lore.

Beta APIs Setup

You guys already know the drill. Because this pack uses dynamic properties to save the kill counts for every single weapon individually and the custom compass menu, you absolutely must turn on the Beta APIs in your world settings. If you dont toggle it on the evolution tracker will not work and weapons will just stay normal.
