Description
RE Nether Spire | The Classic Nether Reactor Returns!
Bring one of Minecraft Pocket Edition's most legendary forgotten features back to life! RE Nether Spire brings that classic experience back to Minecraft Bedrock Edition!
Inspired by the original Nether Reactor from Minecraft Pocket Edition Alpha, this standalone add-on restores the iconic Nether Spire, classic Zombie Pigmen, glowing obsidian, original textures, and the unforgettable Nether Reactor experience.
Whether you're an old Pocket Edition veteran or a newer player who never got to experience this piece of Minecraft history, Nether Spire BE gives you the opportunity to experience one of Minecraft's most memorable removed features!
The Original Nether Reactor Experience!
Travel back to the early days of Minecraft Pocket Edition with a Nether Reactor experience modeled after Minecraft PE Alpha 0.11.0!
Build the legendary Nether Reactor structure, activate its core, and watch as an enormous Nether Spire forms around you!
Inside the spire, you'll encounter hostile classic Zombie Pigmen, collect valuable resources, and survive the reactor's limited-time event.
The add-on is designed to recreate the original experience rather than turning it into an entirely different modern boss battle.
Features include:
-
The classic Nether Reactor Core
-
The original Nether Spire structure
-
Classic hostile Zombie Pigmen instead of modern Zombified Piglins
-
Legacy-inspired Nether Reactor enemy spawning
-
Classic reactor loot and timed gameplay
-
Restored glowing obsidian
-
Original-style netherrack and obsidian textures
-
Survival-friendly crafting recipes
-
Two different Nether Reactor variants!
Two Classic Nether Reactor Variants!
Normal Activation: Classic Netherrack Spire
Activate the Nether Reactor normally to summon the familiar netherrack Nether Spire!
Experience the iconic structure and battle classic Zombie Pigmen as you collect resources from the reactor event.
Crouch Activation: Original Obsidian Spire
Want to experience an even older piece of Minecraft history?
Simply crouch while activating the Nether Reactor Core to trigger the older obsidian-based Nether Spire variant inspired by the reactor's pre-v0.5.0 appearance!
This special activation transforms the familiar Nether Reactor experience into a tribute to one of Pocket Edition's earliest features.
Both versions are accessible through the same Nether Reactor Core!
Restored Classic Blocks and Textures
Nether Spire BE also brings back several iconic textures from Minecraft's early history.
Glowing Obsidian
The famous glowing obsidian returns with its original red-and-black appearance!
This forgotten block was once closely associated with the Nether Reactor and remains one of the most recognizable removed blocks from early Pocket Edition.
Classic Netherrack
Experience the old netherrack appearance that longtime Minecraft players remember from the game's earlier versions.
Classic Obsidian
The original-style obsidian texture returns to complement the older Nether Spire variant.
How to Build the Nether Reactor
To activate the Nether Reactor, you'll need:
-
14 Cobblestone
-
4 Gold Blocks
-
1 Nether Reactor Core
Build the familiar 3×3×3 Nether Reactor structure.
Bottom Layer: Place gold blocks in the four corners and cobblestone in the remaining five spaces.
Middle Layer: Place the Nether Reactor Core in the center, with cobblestone in all four corners.
Top Layer: Create a cobblestone cross, leaving the four corners empty.
Once completed, interact with the Nether Reactor Core to activate it!
Crafting Recipes
Nether Reactor Core:
-
6 Iron Ingots
-
3 Diamonds
-
Iron and diamonds arranged in three alternating vertical columns
Glowing Obsidian:
-
1 Obsidian
-
8 Redstone Dust
-
Surround the obsidian with redstone in the crafting table
Warning: Activating the reactor creates a massive structure that can replace nearby terrain. Build it somewhere away from anything valuable!

Why I Made This Add-on
I created RE Nether Spire because the Nether Reactor is one of those forgotten Minecraft features that deserves to be experienced again.
It was such a unique part of early Pocket Edition, and removing it meant that newer generations of Minecraft players never got to experience this strange and memorable piece of Minecraft history.
Originally, the Nether Reactor was just one of the many restored features included in Classic Reborn PE. But I wanted players who only wanted the original Nether Reactor experience to be able to enjoy it without downloading an entire Minecraft overhaul.
That's why RE Nether Spire exists!
Enjoy a little piece of Minecraft history, brought back to modern Bedrock!
