What Is This?

Unstable Rifts is a Hytale server mod that transforms the game into a replayable top-down dungeon shooter.

Instead of a simple one-off dungeon, each run throws your party into a generated combat route filled with enemies, branching rooms, loot crates, shops, and a boss at the end. You fight with a full set of ranged weapons, melee options, elemental effects, and armor builds while trying to survive long enough to push deeper.

The current run path now pushes through Kweebec, Desert, and Toxic, ending on the CEO Tank. Between runs, the Rift Merchant adds missions, Rift Coin rewards, weapon crates, and boss trophies for longer-term progression.

It is built to be easy to understand for new players, but strong on replayability once you start chasing better drops, stronger builds, cleaner runs, and more merchant progression with friends.

What Is In 1.2.0?

  • A third dungeon floor: Toxic
  • A new final boss: CEO Tank
  • A full three-boss run path: Forklift, Excavator, and CEO Tank
  • Expanded outside-dungeon progression through missions, Rift Coins, and boss trophies
  • New room content on the late floors, including the new Toxic room set

Story

Orbis is under attack.

The Industrial faction has invaded the world to strip it of its resources. Their first major target is the Kweebecs. Villages are being burned, homes are being destroyed, and captured Kweebecs are being enslaved or infected by an unknown plague.

That plague twists former allies into DeadWood.

Your job is to enter the unstable rifts left by the invaders, clear their strongholds, and stop the Kweebecs from being fully overrun. Every dungeon you finish is part of that fight.

Why playing

  1. Top-down shooter combat with guns, melee weapons, elemental effects, and fast room-to-room fights.
  2. 19 weapons with very different feel, from pistols and rifles to muskets, blunderbusses, tasers, and summoning weapons.
  3. Generated dungeon routes across 3 floors, with main paths, side branches, challenge rooms, altar rooms, shops, treasure rooms, and boss encounters.
  4. Co-op replayability built around party play, shared coins, revives, reconnect support, and loot progression.
  5. Between-run progression through Rift Merchant missions, Rift Coins, weapon crates, and boss trophies.
  6. Armor build variety through multiple sets, set bonuses, and different stat profiles.
  7. Roguelike pacing where each run gives you better loot, tougher enemies, and a strong reason to go again.

How Do I Start Playing?

You can begin a run in three main ways:

  1. Find an Ancient Party Portal in a Kweebec village.
  2. Craft your own portal and use it wherever you want.
  3. Open the party menu with /ur party ui to create or manage a party directly.

Once your party is ready, invite friends, open the party interface, and start the run. If you prefer commands, you can also use /ur party invite <player> and /ur party start.

What Can You Do In A Run?

  • Explore a generated dungeon with branching paths.
  • Fight Industrial enemies, infected DeadWood, wildlife, and 3 different floor bosses.
  • Break crates for guns, armor, ammo, healing, and coins.
  • Buy upgrades in safe shop rooms.
  • Take altar rewards and survive the fight that follows.
  • Revive teammates when things go wrong.
  • Beat the boss of each floor and push all the way to Toxic and the CEO Tank.
