Timeweaver - Temporal Arts

AutoMultiHud or MultipleHUD mods are recommended if you are using other mods that add custom HUD elements. Without one, the Temporal Essence bar may overlap or not display correctly.

Timeweaver introduces a time-based magic system to Hytale, allowing players to manipulate time itself through movement, control, and combat abilities powered by a regenerating Temporal Essence resource.


Getting Started

Craft a Chrono Gem in your inventory or at a workbench using basic materials. Equip it in your offhand to begin using time magic.

Your Temporal Essence appears above your health and stamina on the HUD. This acts as your mana system.

  • Essence regenerates slowly over time (1 per second)
  • Abilities drain essence depending on strength and duration


Core Controls

Hold right click with the Chrono Gem to begin charging.

As you charge, you will see lines appear on your meter. Each level uses a different ability depending on your movement or input when releasing.


Basic Ability

Tap Right Click

  • Fires a Temporal Bolt
  • Deals small damage and slows enemies
  • Marks targets so you can teleport to them
  • Does NOT cost essence to fire

If you hit a target:

  • Hold forward + tap right click to teleport to them
  • This teleport DOES cost essence
  • If a target is marked, you cannot fire another bolt until it wears off or you teleport to them.

Charge Abilities - 1st, middle, and last tick mark on the charge bar

Charge Level 1, 2, 3

Your movement determines the ability:

Hold Forward

  • Teleport forward
  • Longer charge = farther distance
  • Works best when jumping or aiming slightly upward

Hold Backward

  • Rewind back through time
  • Returns you to where you were:
    • Level 1 = ~1 second
    • Level 2 = ~3 seconds
    • Level 3 = ~5 seconds
  • Restores your health to that moment

Crouch

  • Cast a Slow Time Field
  • Slows enemies and projectiles inside
  • Drains essence over time
  • Can be canceled by crouching and casting again

 

Charge Level 2 - 2nd tick mark on charge bar

  • Cast Haste on yourself
  • Increases movement speed (1.5x)
  • Drains essence continuously while active
  • Cast again to end it

Full Charge Abilities - Charge the bar all the way to the end

Fully Charged + Crouch

  • Cast a Stop Field
  • Freezes enemies and projectiles in place
  • Enemies can still attack if you get too close
  • Damage dealt during this time is stored and applied all at once when it ends
  • Drains essence rapidly

(Some projectiles may slowly fall instead of staying perfectly frozen)


Fully Charged + Standing

  • Cast a Chrono Boost Field
  • Speeds up everything inside
    • Player movement
    • Crafting stations
    • Processing blocks like furnaces and leatherworking
  • Workbenches affected will display particle effects
  • Drains essence slowly over time

Future updates will expand this to include crop growth and more interactions.


Time Fields

  • Slow, Stop, and Chrono Boost fields persist while active
  • All fields drain essence over time
  • Effects only apply to entities inside the field
  • Some particle effects may linger briefly after the field ends

Temporal Combat System

Timeweaver adds a layered combat system built around positioning and timing:

  • Mark enemies with Temporal Bolts
  • Teleport to targets for quick engages
  • Rewind to escape damage or reposition
  • Control space with time fields
  • Stack damage during Stop fields for burst effects

 


Progression (In Progress)

Currently, the mod includes the base Chrono Gem.

Planned features:

  • Higher tier Chrono Gems
  • Faster casting and new abilities
  • Temporal weapons that interact with the system
  • Expanded Chrono Boost effects (crop growth, more blocks)

Notes

  • Teleports cost more essence at higher charge levels
  • Fields drain essence continuously while active
  • Temporal Bolt is free to use but teleporting to marked targets is not (may change in the future)

Known Issues

  • Some projectiles in Stop fields may slowly fall instead of fully freezing
  • Particle effects from fields may linger briefly after ending
  • Limited multiplayer testing
