4/11 Update. RubbleWorks turns structural support into gameplay. Break the last support holding something up, and the unsupported section collapses. Hostile Mobs will also target structural weak points.

Description

Overview

RubbleWorks aims to turn structural support into gameplay. You can break the last support holding something up, and the unsupported section should collapse. This can be used to undermine towers, drop bridges, or bring down ruins intentionally. Added in hostile NPC weak-point sabotage mechanics, so mobs can target exposed structural supports near players.

RubbleWorks Quick Start

What this mod does:
RubbleWorks makes unsupported structures collapse. If a build loses its last path of support to the ground, the unsupported section falls apart.

Fast setup:
1. Put RubbleWorks-1.1.7.jar in your Hytale mod or plugin folder.
2. Start Hytale with the mod enabled.
3. Load into a world or server.
4. Find or build a small structure with a clear single support point left, like a pillar, bridge, arch, or tower.
5. Break the support block or support pillar.
6. If the rest of the structure no longer has support to the ground, it will collapse.

Best way to test it:
- Build a small wooden or stone bridge with a center support.
- Break the center support.
- Try a tower with a single bottom pillar.
- Try explosions on support blocks for bigger chain reactions.

Good to know:
- Works best on small and medium structures.
- Nearby unsupported attached pieces should also get cleaned up during collapse.
- For the cleanest results, do not run it alongside other structural integrity mods.

If nothing happens:
- Make sure the broken block was actually supporting the structure.
- Test with a simpler build first, like one pillar holding up a platform.
- Confirm the mod is enabled and loaded correctly.

Current Features

  • Unsupported structures collapse when their support path is removed.
  • Works across wood, stone, brick, dirt, bone, mixed builds, and many structural decorative pieces.
  • Explosions can trigger collapse if present.
  • Nearby support driven attachments are re-evaluated so hanging pieces do not stay floating.
  • Collapse uses readable staged failure with particles, sound, and visible progression.
  • Hostile NPC weak-point sabotage mechanic, allowing mobs to target exposed structural supports near players.
  • Added live runtime config generation plus /rw reload and /rw status for much faster AI tuning and testing.
  • By default, mobs should target and destroy supports up to 2x2, and should not break down a 3x3 pillar base or support.

Installation

  • Install RubbleWorks-1.1.7.jar in your Hytale mod setup usually located in <Hytale>/UserData/Mods.
  • Launch the world or server with RubbleWorks enabled.
  • Remove support and watch unsupported structures fail.

Known Limitations

  • Trace limit on structures is 2048 blocks. Larger than that and the resulting boundary case may cause the collapse engine to fall back to continuation behavior.

Feedback & Issues

  • Feedback, bug reports, and suggestions are welcome.
  • I have plans to update the functionality and finetune this more down the road.
  • Please let me know if there are any blocks that I have missed that do not collapse.
  • Please let me know if you run into any lag spikes or issues in your logs or console that I can address and fix.
