Roleplay Core

Hytale Roleplay Core is an essential utility mod designed to enhance roleplay servers by introducing immersive communication tools. It provides a lightweight yet powerful foundation for player interactions, allowing server owners to create a more focused and realistic environment.

Key Features

• Proximity Chat: Chat messages and roleplay actions are limited to a configurable radius. This encourages local interactions between players and prevents the global chat from becoming cluttered. (Requires Proximity Core)
• Roleplay Commands: Includes industry-standard RP commands to facilitate storytelling:
  • /me <action>: Describes a player's character action (e.g., Player opens the door).
  • /do <result>: Describes environmental effects or results/outcomes (e.g., The key turns in the lock).
• Localization Support: You can fully translate command usage hints, titles, and other interface text to your server's native language via localization.json.
• Simple Configuration: Easily adjust the chat radius and customize message strings via simple JSON files.

Commands

/ooc [message]

Toggles Global OOC Mode or sends a one-time Proximity OOC message.

• Usage:
  • /ooc: Toggles Global OOC channel.
  • /ooc <message>: Sends a one-time Proximity OOC message.
• Permission: roleplaycore.command.ooc

/ic

Switches to Proximity (IC) Mode.

• Usage: /ic
• Permission: roleplaycore.command.ic

/me <action>

Describes an action you are doing.

• Permission: roleplaycore.command.me

/do <result>

Describes an event or result of an action.

• Permission: roleplaycore.command.do

/try <action>

Attempts an action with a randomized outcome.

• Outcomes: Critical Success, Success, Failure, Critical Failure.
• Permission: roleplaycore.command.try

/w <message>

Whispers to nearby players (shorter range).

• Permission: roleplaycore.command.whisper

/y <message>

Yells to players further away (larger range).

• Permission: roleplaycore.command.yell

/rpinfo

Shows roleplay command information and syntax.

• Permission: roleplaycore.command.rpinfo

Configuration

Upon first launch, the mod generates two configuration files in its data folder (config.json and localization.json). You can edit these files to adjust the chat radius and fully customize all text outputs to suit your server.

Note: If you don't see the new settings in your config file after updating, simply delete the old file. The mod will generate a fresh one with the latest options automatically.

Installation

1. Place the RoleplayCore.jar file into your Hytale Server's mods directory.
2. Start or restart your server.
3. (Optional) Edit config.json or localization.json to customize the experience for your community.
