A peaceful cherry-blossom realm in Hytale where Slothian villagers wander five biomes (Sakura forest, lavender prairie, lilac wisteria garden, plum-blossom koi pond, and bamboo glade) and everything you build stays forever.

Description

Project Sakura V2

**Step through a portal into a quiet pink valley where the trees never stop blooming — and where everything you build waits for you.**

Project Sakura adds a peaceful cherry-blossom realm to your Hytale save. It's a place to be, not a place to conquer. No bosses, no quest markers, no timer. Just rolling pink hills, falling petals, Slothian villagers going about their day, and — new in V2 — a permanent home for whatever you decide to build there.

## What it feels like to be there

You craft a Sakura Teleporter, place it on the ground, and step on.

On the other side: pink hills under afternoon light, the slow drift of falling petals, the warm-toned silhouette of curved Sakura trees. Slothian villagers go about their day — kids running between houses, monks meditating, elders watching the wind, scouts walking the perimeter. Familiar overworld wildlife — deer, foxes, ducks, frogs, the occasional bunny — rendered softer, in a key that matches the dimension's pink-tinted light.

Walk far enough and the realm changes shape. There's a sheltered **Wisteria Court** where lilac canopies hang over a pebble garden. An open **Lavender Field** where waist-high purple flowers stretch as far as you can see, untroubled by trees. A **Bamboo Glade** where ferns brush your knees and stalks pull your eye upward. A still **Hanami Pond** ringed by white plum trees, koi drifting beneath waterlilies on the surface.

When night comes, the petals settle and the moonlight turns deep blue. Bats and owls take over from the daytime sparrows. The Slothians retire indoors. The Grove rests until dawn.

## What V2 changes

**The Grove is permanent now.**

Every block you place, every path you carve, every shrine you decorate is saved to disk — across portal exits, save reloads, and full Hytale restarts. The Grove is a real second realm in your save now — a permanent worldspace alongside your overworld, not a fresh copy you visit. Build a tea house. Plant your own koi pond. Carve a path between biomes. Come back next week and find it exactly as you left it.

This was the one thing v1.x couldn't deliver, and figuring out how to get around the engine's default behavior took some real digging. V2 finally cracks it.

## Five biomes to find

- 🌸 **Sakura Grove** *(default)* — pink cherry forest, Slothian villages, gentle creeks
- 💜 **Wisteria Court** — lilac canopy over a pebble garden, purple flower carpet
- 🎋 **Bamboo Glade** — dense bamboo, fern understory, occasional sakura accent
- 🤍 **Hanami Pond** — white plum blossoms, koi-stocked water, reeds at the shore
- 💐 **Lavender Field** — open prairie of tall purple lavender, no trees blocking the sky

Each biome has its own map color and ambient feel — wander the map and you'll know which biome you're heading toward by the color alone.

## How to get there

1. Craft **Sakura Teleporter (Entry)** at the Arcanebench — 1 Iron Ingot, tier 1
2. Craft **Sakura Teleporter (Return)** at the Arcanebench — same recipe; bring it with you
3. Place Entry on the ground in your overworld
4. Step on it

That's it. Both pads are 1 Iron each, craftable at the same bench you already use for vanilla teleporters. No multi-stage rituals, no rare ingredients to grind for. If you forget the Return pad, `/instance exit` works as a fallback.

## What's actually inside

- **Five biomes** with distinct flora, atmosphere, and palette
- **Six Slothian villager roles** — Villagers, Kids, Elders, Monks, Scouts, Warriors — each with custom outfits and behaviors
- **Custom placeable blocks** — Sakura Wood, Sakura Leaves, Plum Leaves, Lilac Wisteria — for your own builds
- **Day/night spawners** — ground animals, birds, koi, nocturnal creatures, Slothians
- **Two custom 24-hour weather cycles** — falling petals by day, deeper blue ambience by night
- **Persistent realm** — everything you do in the Grove is saved forever

## What it isn't

So you know exactly what you're getting:

- The Grove uses **Hytale's default ambient music** for now — custom tracks are on the roadmap, not in V2
- This is a **separate realm only** — Sakura biomes don't yet spawn in your default overworld (that's a future-version question; depends on Hytale's main-world worldgen hooks stabilising)
- The **Return pad sends you to your main world's spawn point**, not your exact pre-portal location — use it as a "go home" button rather than a "back to my exact spot" button

## Compatibility

- **Hytale build `2026.03.26-89796e57b`** and later
- **Plays nicely with most biome, structure, and worldgen mods** that don't claim the same `ProjectSakura` namespace
- **Companion mods** of mine designed to feel like they belong in the same world:
  - **Turning Seasons** — atmospheric variety in your overworld (the Grove itself stays evergreen by design)
  - **Structure Atlas** — passive discovery of generated structures across your overworld
- **Your overworld stays exactly as you left it** — installing this mod can't disrupt anything you've already built. The Grove is its own place.

## Installation

1. Download `ProjectSakura-v2.0.0.zip`
2. Drop it into your Hytale Mods folder (`%APPDATA%\Hytale\UserData\Mods\` on Windows). Leave it as a `.zip` or extract it — both forms load.
3. Launch Hytale, create or load a save, and enable **Project Sakura** in the save's mod settings
4. In-game: craft Sakura Teleporter pads at the Arcanebench, place Entry, step on it

## Upgrading from v1.x

V2 is a major architecture change. Quick notes:

- Existing **Portal Key** items become unrecognized — craft Sakura Teleporter (Entry) at the Arcanebench instead
- v1.x ephemeral builds were never saved to disk by the engine, so there's nothing to migrate
- Your overworld and other worlds are untouched

## A note from the author

Project Sakura was built to be the kind of mod I'd want to install myself — quiet, self-contained, well-behaved with the rest of your modlist. About to hit **1,000 downloads**, which still hasn't quite sunk in. Every comment, every screenshot, every "I built a tea house there" message shaped where V2 went. Thank you for spending time in the Grove.

If something feels off, or if you have an idea for a future realm, drop a comment on this page. I read all of them.

The Grove is your second home now. This time, it'll be there when you come back.
