Quest-giver NPCs that hold real conversations, two campaign questlines in a new free pack, new kinds of quest goals (including zone-scoped ones), an achievements refresh, and new bounty contracts for quick skill XP.
- New: quest-giver NPCs with branching dialogue. Quests are handed out by NPCs who actually talk to you - greetings that change as you progress, options to pick from, a bit of lore, and the odd one-time gift - and you accept or hand in the quest right from the conversation. Quest givers can stand beside the Adventurer's Guide at world spawn, appear the first time you discover a new area, or be placed by hand. (Prefer your own dialogue mod? It still works: point a dialogue button at the quest UI command.)
- New: Quest Tracker HUD: Position can be configured by admins in admin menu.
- New: a guided start the moment you arrive. The Adventurer's Guide greets a new player and offers a short tutorial or a skip - either way you walk away with the Skill Menu Scroll, so the menu is always one item-use away. The tutorial is built in and works with no extra packs; breaking your first block hands over the scroll for you. Finishing or skipping it opens the Emerald Wilds campaign (with the free Quest Pack installed), so the opening tutorial and the campaign flow together as one start.
- New: two campaign questlines (free MMO Skill Quest Pack). A brand-new free pack adds two hand-written campaigns - the Emerald Wilds and the Howling Sands - with their own quest-givers, dialogue, and achievements. Details on the pack's page: MMO Skill Quest Pack.
- New: more kinds of quest goals. Quests and bounties can ask you to reach a place, eat or drink something, or spend currency, on top of the existing goals. And any goal can be tied to a world zone, so a hunt only counts where it is meant to ("in the Howling Sands").
- New bounty contracts (MMO Skill Bounty Pack). The Bounty Pack adds a fast-rotating Quick Contracts board and daily training contracts for steady skill XP between the bigger paydays. Details on the pack's page: MMO Skill Bounty Pack.
- Achievements refresh. Every achievement shows an icon, so the lists read at a glance. New achievement chains reward eating and drinking, spending, and chatting up the locals.
- New: Feats of Strength for the old questlines. If you finished one of the original one-time quest chains before they were retired - mining, fishing, the warrior and mage paths, the early one-off quests, or the grand Champion of Orbis finale - you now earn a Feat of Strength for it. They appear under Feats of Strength automatically the next time you log in, are purely a badge of honor (no points, no rewards), and only show up for players who actually completed those quests.
- Quest and bounty goals read naturally, in your language. Objectives describe themselves automatically (mine ore, chop wood, talk to the right NPC, and the like), translated like the rest of the game.
- Every menu reads in your game's language, automatically. All MMO Skill Tree text - skill tree, quests, bounties, shop, mastery, command replies, toasts - now follows the language you have set for Hytale itself and is rendered by your own client, so names like skills, items, and currencies always appear in your language. Ability descriptions, mastery bonuses, and XP-boost reward cards describe themselves and translate too (a few of these used to show in English regardless of locale), and a boost reward now shows its strength as a clean line rather than baked-in text. If you run the Taming Pack, its quests and achievements read in your language too.
- Heads-up (required): install the ZiggfreedCommon companion file. This release needs a small companion library,
ZiggfreedCommon-1.1.1.jar, in your server's mods folder next to the MMO Skill Tree jar. It is a separate file that loads first; without it the mod will not start. (Fresh installs: just add both files.) - Heads-up: the in-game language setting was removed. MMO Skill Tree no longer has its own language picker (in the welcome screen or Settings) - it follows the language you choose for the game, so there is nothing extra to set. Server owners can still pick a default fallback language. (Floating combat numbers stay in the server's default language.)
- Heads-up: a few achievements became Feats of Strength. The per-board Daily and Weekly bounty achievement chains are now Feats of Strength - still yours to keep as a badge of honor, but they no longer count toward your achievement-point total (so if you had earned them, your point total dips a little). Every other achievement, and all the point milestones, are unchanged.
- Heads-up: the built-in daily quests moved to the Bounty Pack. The old built-in daily quests now live on the Bounty Pack's contract boards. If you run the Bounty Pack you keep them (as bounties); without it, those particular dailies are gone. Any progress you had on a quest that was retired stays in your save but is no longer shown.
- New (server owners): per-world rules. Owners can set rules per world by name - scale or switch off XP, turn off the whole ability layer and its on-screen HUDs (handy for a lobby or a story instance, and a disabled-abilities world stays quiet rather than nagging on every keypress), switch weapon combat to vanilla (no crit, lifesteal, or skill-tree / mastery damage bonuses), or disable specific skills - and a name pattern like
Dungeon_01_*covers a whole family of instanced worlds at once. Worlds you do not configure play exactly as before. - Fixed: abilities work right on multi-world servers. On servers running more than one world (instances, raid arenas), damage-over-time, healing-over-time, ground-zone, beam, and projectile abilities now apply in the world you cast them in instead of occasionally doing nothing, and no longer drop their damage under heavy load.
- Fixed: "reach a level in any skill" quests now complete if you already qualify. A quest goal that accepts any skill (like the Skill Mastery Pack's "reach level 15 in any skill" starter) used to never finish; it now completes the moment you accept it or log in, if you already meet it.
- Various performance fixes
