A standalone companion to the MMO Skill Tree mod that turns Hytale's open world into a living difficulty curve, zone by zone, without you hand-placing a single spawn.

The first release of MMO Mob Scaling, a standalone open-world mob difficulty-scaling companion to the MMO Skill Tree mod. Open-world mobs scale to the players around them: a high-power group meets tougher, rarer, affixed enemies, while a lone newcomer is never overwhelmed. Everything is data-driven, so you can retune or extend any of it from a content pack. Requires MMO Skill Tree 1.5.0+ and Ziggfreed's CommonLib 1.2.0+.

  • New: layered open-world difficulty. Every hostile mob is scaled to a difficulty resolved from three layers: Hytale's own worldgen ZONE and BIOME floors (a starter gradient ships, Zone 0 through Zone 4), a distance-from-spawn ESCALATION (the deeper frontier is harder AND denser with rare mobs), and the real POWER of the players standing in the region (their full MMO Skill Tree build, not just their level).
  • New: rarity ladder + affixes. Rare, Epic, Legendary, and a forced Boss tier, each a coloured nameplate, an aura tint, stat multipliers, affix slots, bonus XP, and a bonus loot table. Five affixes ride native Hytale effects (Armored, Stalwart, Swift, Vampiric, Freezing). Rolls are deterministic per mob, so a chunk reload reproduces the same mob.
  • New: mob families and variants. Rarity tiers and a second VARIANT overlay can be locked to specific mob families (by native mob group like Spiders or Undead, or by a role-name pattern like Spider*), so you can build family-flavored elites. A variant stacks on top of whatever rarity a mob rolled, so a spider can become a "Horrific Epic Spider" with its own extra stat boosts and its own exclusive affixes. The launch ships a worked example: a spider-only Horrific variant that bites with a unique Venomous affix and drops extra loot, and never appears on anything but spiders.
  • New: risk pays. A scaled kill grants bonus MMO XP (with an underdog bonus for punching above your weight) and pulls extra loot from its tier's drop table.
  • New: two player HUD overlays. A Zone Difficulty card (local difficulty, a threat tier read relative to you, your own and the group's power, and the friendly in-game zone name) and a Mob Inspector card (look at any mob to see its portrait, name, rarity and variant tags, scaled difficulty, a live health bar, and its affixes as icon chips). Both toggle and reposition live via /mobscaling hud, and follow MMO Skill Tree's own /mmohud show/hide.
  • New: /mobscaling admin tools. inspect (report the difficulty inputs at your position), preset (switch live between Default, Casual, Hardcore, Playtest), hud (tune the overlays), and purge (strip scaling residue before uninstalling).
  • Data-driven throughout. Zone floors, rarities, variants, affixes, drop tables, the difficulty-to-stats curve, and both overlays are all Hytale assets you can retune per file or extend from a content pack; nothing is baked into Java.
