Description
An Early Start
I was hoping to have more completed before the contest deadline, but with how much I worked, I still wanted to show off what I've accomplished. As of April 28, 2026, this mod is more of a framework or a set of bricks and mortar. There are things you can look at and see the possibilities of modding with Hytale (My code is open source, and some of it is committed; I'll commit more as I continue; feel free to use or review my code as you wish).
What is added currently?
As of right now, there are a few things you can check out. There is a runic power you can use; you must run the /test command. You'll know it worked when you see your message box showing numbers increasing to 100. That is the runic power for future use. After you run that command, you can now tap the Ctrl key while you are jumping or are in the air. You must press the Ctrl key for less than 0.2 seconds. If you want to go higher, hold down the space bar. No items are needed to use this.
Next, there is a sliding block meant for puzzles in future dungeons. You can place it in the world and slide it by pressing F and looking at one of the cardinal faces. It can also fall if there is no block beneath it.
Lastly, the doors can be locked. First, run the /createLock command on the door you want to place in the world. Then run the /createKey command to give yourself a key. Make sure that both the key and door have matching keyIds.
What is the Goal?
The goal for this mod is to create my own version of a story within Hytale. I really love the concept art and ideas Hytale has shared. I plan to create an experience akin to LoZ, tailored to my own tastes. I had hoped to finish the Wind Temple before the competition's due date, but, regretfully, it is incomplete, and not all the runic spells are finished. I want to create temples for each of the elements: wind, earth, lightning, water, fire, void, and light. As well as create unique characters, towns, and side quests. I've always dreamt of making my own game, but I always gave up for some reason. However, I am doing better in my life now and am actually able to enjoy things and push myself. So I hope you'll join me as I make something from this amazing game!
