Description
In ancient lands, mounts were not controlled by force or commands — they followed those they trusted. HorseFollow brings this philosophy to the game by introducing a bond-based taming system, focused on items, interaction, and persistence.
▶ Latest Updates / Changelog
Changelog 1.3.5
- Bug fixes and general improvements
- Reduced Goat Horn sound volume
- Fine-tuned mount animations
- Added a new horse variant: Black Horse
- Added a new item: Soul Amulet
- New mechanic: Soul Binding for Skeleton Horses
Objective
Introduce a simple, immersive, and reliable taming mechanic for mounts, replacing command-heavy systems with item-based interactions and long-term bonds.
Core Mechanics
HorseFollow creates a persistent bond between player and mount. Once bonded, the mount becomes a companion — not just a vehicle.
- Supports horses and rams
- Two distinct taming mechanics:
- Feed Bonding — for living mounts
- Soul Binding — for fallen, spectral mounts
- Bound mounts actively follow their owner
- Follow distance and teleport behavior are fully configurable
- Automatic teleport can be completely disabled
- Mounts can be ordered to stay
Item-Based Interaction
Interaction is centered on items, not commands.
- Feed — used to bond with living mounts
- Goat Horn — used to call your bound mount
- Soul Amulet — used to bind the soul of fallen mounts
Commands exist only for configuration, status, and administrative control.
Calling Your Mount
The Goat Horn replaces the old call command.
- Dropped by goats
- When used, calls your bound mount to your location
- Sound volume is balanced to avoid disruption
- Can be recycled into Chitin Sturdy
Soul Binding Mechanic
Some mounts do not submit to simple taming. When a Skeleton Horse falls, its soul may linger.
- Defeat a Skeleton Horse
- Capture its soul using the Soul Amulet
- The amulet stores the bond
- Warning: amulets can be stolen
How to Use
- Obtain the correct Feed for the mount
- Use the feed on the mount to create a bond
- The mount will automatically follow you
- Use the Goat Horn to call it when needed
- Use commands only for distance, status, or stay behavior
Commands
/horsefollow status — Displays current bond status.
/horsefollow distance <value> — Sets teleport distance (0 disables teleport).
/horsefollow stay — Makes the mount stay in place.
/horsefollow reload — Reloads configuration and language files.
