They are also not mergeable.
Chests:
Fine Chest -> Workbench (Survival) -> 27 slots
Gem Chest -> Workbench (Tinkering) -> 36 slots
Prismatic Chest ->Furniture's Bench -> 63 slots
Mark Gem Chests in Builder's workbench. Salvage chest to remove tag.
Also works with Prismatic Chests
It (seems to) works even for clients without the mod, only server should have it. From v.0.3 and further you can just update the mod without worries, all items will preserve at older version's chests.
