🧭 1. What WorldEditMax Does
WorldEditMax is a world pack builder for Hytale that lets you:
Shape which biomes dominate your world
Increase or reduce biome size feel
Add custom spawn ecosystems (Dragons, Mythics, Elementals, etc.)
Tune terrain profile and loot economy
Export a ready-to-install mod zip
🚀 2. Quick Start (5 Minutes)
Follow this order every time for stable results:
Open Metadata and fill in Mod ID, Name, Author, Version
Go to Worldgen and choose your biome blend
Use a biome preset button if you want larger biome regions
Configure Mobs (dragons, mythics, elementals, etc.)
Configure Loot if needed
Click Export Mod Zip
Upload to server mods and restart
Test in new chunks (not old explored areas)
🗺️ 3. Biome Controls Explained
Biome sliders control presence/frequency, not a perfect hard size lock.
✅ Large Biomes Preset
Use when you want larger regions but still some variety.
What it does:
Keeps currently selected biomes (sliders above 0)
Sets unselected biomes to 0
Rebalances selected biomes toward larger regional dominance
🔒 Ultra Lock Preset
Use when you want the strongest “big region” behavior.
What it does:
Keeps only the top 2 selected biomes
Sets all other biomes to 0
Forces strongest two-biome dominance
⚠️ Important Limitation
You can still occasionally get tiny transition fragments due to base worldgen blending rules.
This is normal and engine-side.
🏔️ 4. Terrain Profile (How to Tune)
In Worldgen → Terrain Profile:
Biome Variation: global terrain variation feel
Mountain Extremity: mountain sharpness/height drama
Canyon Depth: canyon carving intensity
Sea Level Offset: ocean/lake vertical shift
Structure Density: overall structure frequency
Recommended baseline:
Start all near defaults
Change one slider at a time
Re-export and test new chunks

🎁 6. Loot Tuning
In Loot:
Adjust chest loot multipliers by category
Adjust mob drop multipliers
Toggle dungeon/surface loot behavior
Best practice:
Keep loot near baseline for first biome/spawn tests
Tune loot after ecosystem feels right
🧩 7. Biome Mask Packs
Mask packs allow targeted biome file overrides.
How it works:
Enable desired pack(s)
Export
Selected mask files apply after base generation
If two packs target the same file:
Later injection wins
Use masks when:
You want aggressive region replacement patterns
You want specific biome override behavior by zone/tier
🏗️ 8. Custom Prefab Injection
In Worldgen → Custom Structure Prefabs:
Upload prefab files
Set custom prefab spawn rate
Export
Use this for custom ruins/points-of-interest mixed into generated worlds.
📦 9. Export + Install (Server)
Click Export Mod Zip
Upload zip to server mod location
Restart server
Generate unexplored chunks to validate changes
Confirm expected biome dominance and spawn behavior in-world
✅ 10. Validation Checklist
After install, confirm:
Correct biomes dominate as expected
Unselected biomes are mostly absent (except tiny transitions)
Dragon spawns are active and moving
Mythics/Elementals spawn at intended density
Loot pacing feels correct
No missing role/spawn errors in logs
🛠️ 11. Troubleshooting
Problem: “I still see tiny unchosen biome pockets”
Use Ultra Lock Preset
Ensure non-target biome sliders are 0
Test only in fresh terrain
Problem: “Too many custom mobs”
Lower Mythic/Elemental/Flying density
Reduce overlapping spawn systems
Re-export and retest
Problem: “Not seeing new features”
Verify latest zip is deployed
Full server restart
Test far from explored chunks
Problem: “World feels too chaotic”
Keep only 2-3 active biomes
Use Large or Ultra Lock
Keep density values moderate (0.5x to 1.2x)
