Custom Avatar Mod is a Hytale server plugin that automatically applies custom player models as player avatars when entering the world.

Description

Custom Avatar Mod is a server-side plugin that brings personalized avatar customization to your Hytale server. When players join, the plugin automatically applies custom 3D models matching their display names, creating a unique visual identity for each player.

Core Features:

  • 🎭 Automatic Avatar Application - Models are automatically applied when players join the server
  • 📁 Name-Based Model Matching - Uses exact case-sensitive player names to find corresponding models
  • 🔄 Easy Reset System - Simple command to restore default appearance

How It Works:

  1. When a player joins, the plugin checks for a ModelAsset with an ID matching their exact display name (case-sensitive)

  2. If found, the player's original model is safely stored and replaced with the custom model

  3. Players can use /clearavatar at any time to restore their original appearance

Model Setup:

To assign a custom model to a player:

  1. Create your 3D model in Hytale's Asset Editor

  2. Set the ModelAsset ID to the exact player name (case-sensitive)

    1. Example: For player "Steve", name your model asset "Steve"

    2. For player "Alex123", name your model asset "Alex123"

  3. The plugin will automatically detect and apply the model when that player joins

⚠️ CRITICAL REQUIREMENT:
This plugin does nothing by itself - you must provide ModelAsset packs with models named after player display names. Without these external model assets, the plugin will simply pass through players with their default appearance.
