This Total RP 3 module adds several customizations to KuiNameplates (both Total RP 3 and KuiNameplates add-ons are of course required):
- See the full RP name of a character on their nameplate, instead of their default name, colored like in their tooltip.
- Hide the names of players without an RP profile! (Off by default, can be enabled in the settings)
- See customized pets names (only for pets with a nameplate, if enabled, like hunters or warlocks).
- See their custom title if they have one. (Off by default, can be enabled in the settings. Enabling this option will replace the guild text by the player custom title.)
- New in version 1.4.0: Automatic fetching of profiles when a nameplate comes into view. You no longer need to have your cursor over someone to get their profile, profiles from people around you are automatically downloaded.
You can fine tune the settings of this module in the settings of Total RP 3 to have it only customize the nameplates when you are "In Character" or disable individual customizations.
Have you conconsidered enabling the feature for battle pet? I would love it :D
Hi. I would love to add support for battle pets, but unfortunately they don't have nameplates. It is the regular non customizable text that is shown on their head :(
Is it possible to limit the titles listed by the player? There are a lot of players who use very long titles and it's very jarring.
Hi. Long titles had been an annoying thing for a while now. Total RP 3 will be updated to crop long titles next week, this module will benefit of that change without needing an update :)
I just want to thank you for this addon, I love it :)
Hi. Thanks, I'm glad you like it :)
@EllypseCelweBelore; Do you think you could update it a bit, to make it where it's like TRP3 Core Addon, and choose to see: "[Original Name], [First Name], [First + Last Name], [Title + First + Last Name]"? Some names on it tend to get too long with Long *** titles and middle names, such as: "High Warlord [First Name] [Middle & Last Name]"
That's a good suggestion :) I will add that in the next version. Thank you
I also am curious, if you're able to make it where it shows your own character's name as well? Cause I really wanted to see mine, cause I'm used to having the "My Name" Option in the [!Names] interface, but it doesn't really fit well with the TRP3 version and all, it's just default. Or does that have to do with the main core? Cause I can't seem to figure it out, lol.
I don't know if this problem is TRP3 Kui Nameplate's error, or the Core, but a friend, one whom I showed this addon to found a bug with the Guild, where it keeps disappearing, than appearing, than disappearing again...etc http://prntscr.com/e5hady
Hi. Sorry, I didn't get notifications of your comments from Curse.
I will look into the issue with the guild names.
Your own character doesn't have a nameplate at the top of their head, so it's not possible to show their name :(
Well, you can get a nameplate over your head actually. If you go to The Game Menu (Esc) --- Interface --- ! Names --- and Check the "My Name" box, you can get your own name above your character, it just won't show your trp3 name and what not. ----
(My Name for Proof: http://prntscr.com/ea36np) ---- (The Name Above My Head: http://prntscr.com/ea36xi)
This is not a nameplate ;)
Tried using this Addon, and for the life of me cannot get it to work.
I do use ElvUI, so could that possibly be an issue here?
Hello.
I need more precisions on what you mean by not get it to work. Do you see the nameplates of friendly players but they are not modified correctly? If you don't see the nameplates of friendly players at all you have to enable them either in the Interface settings in the Names category or using the shortcut (Shift-V by default). You also need to have the Text only mode enabled for friendly nameplates in the settings of KuiNameplates.
Have you tried going into [Interface - !Names] and check-marking/Turning on: "[!Always Show Nameplates] AS WELL as [Friendly Players (Shift-V)]?
