Pawn
Last Updated: Feb 17, 2019 Game Version: 8.1.0
Pawn helps you find upgrades for your gear and tell which of two items is better for your spec. Start with built-in advice from Ask Mr. Robot, or customize Pawn's stat weights to have it suggest items based on your favorite class guide or simulator. Pawn can help you decide whether it's better to use the cloak with 100 mastery or the one with 80 crit—whether you're just starting out, or you're an advanced player who plans out gear upgrades and regularly simulates and evaluates performance.
Language support
Pawn works with English, French, German, Italian, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish (European and Latin American), Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. Unlike most addons, Pawn's language has to match the language you play WoW in.
Staying in touch
Become a fan of Vger on Facebook and get updates of new versions and stuff like that. You can also leave questions or comments there if you don't have an account on this site.
Prerelease alpha versions of Pawn are occasionally available on CurseForge.
Getting started
If you're new to Pawn, don't worry—Pawn will automatically set itself up to give you advice based on math done by the experts at Ask Mr. Robot. Just watch for Pawn's green arrows. If you decide you want to go further, there are a lot of ways that you can customize Pawn, by tracking multiple specs at once, importing custom stat weights, and more.
Found a bug?
If you think you might have found a bug, just leave a comment here. In addition to a description of the problem, please make sure to include: (1) the language that you use Pawn and WoW in, (2) the specific items that don't work as expected, and (3) your class and spec if you're using the built-in (not custom) stat weights. Screenshots are usually very helpful as well.
Incompatible with...
Pawn will not work with Titan Panel Artifact Power or Combat Numbers Separator. Those addons change item tooltips and will cause Pawn to give bad advice. It's also been reported that using Pawn with TradeSkillMaster can cause the game to crash or hang.
remove the * in front of it?
Any ideas ? Also, is there a way for that to only apply to my Shaman character ?
Is it possible to have an option to show only the non enchanted values?
I've uploaded Pawn 0.5.4. This version doesn't add any new features, but it adds support for a variety of new items. Most notably, haste rating, spell haste rating, and armor penetration stats have been added. (HasteRating, SpellHasteRating, and ArmorPenetration, respectively.) Also, there's the usual set of updates for new items that I release with every new Pawn version.
This is a known problem. The easy workaround is "/console reloadui", which will get your unenchanted values back in about two seconds. I haven't been able to track down what's causing it, though it appears to be a Blizzard tooltip bug. Pawn needs to get a lot of tooltip information, and when it does so in rapid succession, WoW eventually stops giving it the information it's looking for. I still hope to investigate further and have a fix in a future version.
I'm loving Pawn, but not too long after I log in, the unenchanted values disappear as if the unenchanted setting were off. The only way to get them back is to log out and back in. Has anyone else had this problem?
I wanted to post what I had in mind when it comes to Pawn and weapons. This is a screen that I took using a modified version of Jubei AEP. I would continue to use said version, but I don't have the time to properly maintain/rewrite/optimize it: http://members.shaw.ca/cutlery/AEP_weapon.jpg
The numbers come almost directly from Shadowpanther.net's scales - where he values each point of DPS and speed for offhand weapons, and each point of 'average damage' for mainhand weapons.
I created a new forum for Pawn Scales. As some of you have noticed, the old ones were hopelessly overrun with porn spam. I'm putting up some extra security in this one so as to avoid that from happening again.

I would very much like to see weapon / DPS features added ASAP.
Specifically, I would like to see Average Damage for main hand weapons, and Speed for offhand weapons.
Not yet. The two big things left for Pawn are a configuration UI and more weapon / DPS features. I don't know which one I'll work on first, but that ability is indeed planned.
It it possible to differentiate between melee weapon DPS and ranged weapon DPS? It would be nice if you could.
I'm waiting a day or two to update the IncGamers page, as if I update it too early they flip the bit and suddenly it's marked "not updated since the last WoW patch." :)
Its just funny to see with the comment below, that the one here is newer than the other listed... :D
It may take a while to really figure out Pawn, and I'm happy to help out. The best way to reach me is at IncGamers:

I check IncGamers once a day or more; Curse... not so much. It's been through a lot of development, and it's been downloaded 13,000 times, so chances are someone else has run into the same questions as you. I hope you enjoy it!
