Immersion
Last Updated: Jan 26, 2019 Game Version: 8.1.0
Immersion is a replacement for the dated quest & gossip frames. Hugely inspired by the talking head frame, Immersion is a no-nonsense solution to the wall of quest text you never read, without hindering your progress. Skip ahead, accept quests and select dialogue options with the press of a single button or simply click anywhere on the frame to pick up the next quest. All your hotkeys are customizable and you can even use number keys to press specific gossip/quest options.
Even though you can navigate the interface much faster than the regular quest & gossip frames, Immersion will get you to actually read and understand what's happening on your questing adventure, without any cumbersome stops along the way. Unlike other replacements for quest & gossip, Immersion doesn't take the long route and force you through menus and text. The full immersive experience is there for you when you want it, but doesn't get in your way when you're in a hurry.

I love this idea of taking NPC interaction out of the box. Real nice look and feel to it.
However, the talking head box is not in a good spot. Do you have an option to move it by chance?
Every time I update this mod I need to go to compat.lua and remove the function for DialogKey.
...
L.Set('enablenumbers', true).
I'm guessing it's your simple solution to people whining about this mod disabling DK's number-key function but there's gotta be something more elegant than forcing a setting I refuse. If you'd prefer to leave it as is, so be it. I'll just continue to remove it at every update, it's simple enough.
In case you're wondering, I use DK for every other dialog box (e.g. confirmations, accept rez etc.) and my number keys are bound to a lot of primary actions on my mouse, like jump. So, I disable this function for both addons.

Before you report the quest/gossip overlap bug, PLEASE update to version 1.0.6 to check if this problem has been solved for you or not, then you're free to comment as a REPLY to this if the problem still occurs.
i am literally begging you, PLEASE, for the love of god add in some kind of font size control thing. i love this add on and i just started using elvui again, but when you do that there's no way to change the font size, so it's basically size 6pt on my giant monitor. and yeah, i did check in elvui before i commented (for an embarrassing amount of time) to see if it they had something there. i can change the font type, but not the size, so it's useless. i don't want to have to uninstall this but it's impossible to read now

adore this addon, it's really changed the game for me.
just a few things that i was wondering about, a few ideas i had.
1) allow font size control. i would like to be able to change the size of the font (and indeed the font itself), without changing the whole UI scale. i have a 1440p monitor, and if i make the font more readable by boosting the the scale, the UI as a whole becomes too large
2) allow skinning of the UI via masque or similar, or add more choices inside the addon. Something i've noticed about the gradient that fades to alpha around the UI is that it bands a bit, particularly with scaling. I'd rather have the option of changing the quest/gossip frames to something a bit more like the rest of my UI (which happens to be elvui).
3) allow snapping the UI to areas on the screen. ideally immersion would be aware of something like elvui and be able to snap to its elements, but otherwise, it just being able to snap to areas (eg center, top, bottom etc) or a grid, and be moved on a per pixel basis on an x,y grid, would be super cool. along with this being able to specify absolute sizes for the individual UI elements (at your own risk of making it unusuable etc) would be super cool.
apologies if any of these are already in the game and i've just not noticed. as i said at the top i love this addon. the above ideas are just things i could imagine myself and others finding super useful.
Love the mod so far.
I have two questions towards the dev.
1. While using the standard UI, some quests have a little frame (to the right side of the main quest frame itself) that display a model of a particular NPC.
In most cases, this NPC is the target you need to kill in order to complete the quest.
By using a macro, I managed to get the name of said frame (including the names of the additional elements that go with it - the text beneath the NPC model, the corresponding scrollbar + scrollbar buttons).
Their names are as follows:
QuestNPCModel
QuestNPCModelNameTooltipFrame
QuestNPCModelTextScrollFrameScrollBar
QuestNPCModelTextScrollFrameScrollBarScrollUpButton
QuestNPCModelTextScrollFrameScrollBarScrollDownButton
I have provided a screenshot for reference.
This frame sometimes adds a little bit of interesting flavor text and it would be a shame to miss out on it.
Do you plan to add any support for said frame (and its additional elements)?
Note: for anyone interested, the macro to get the name of a UI element that you are currently pointing to is as follows:
/run print(GetMouseFocus():GetName());
2. Is it possible to change the functionality of the mouse buttons?
It would be great to have an option to prevent the mouse buttons from accepting or completing a quest, instead this could be done with the press of a keyboard button (rebindable).
This would prevent accidental quest turn ins before you are ready to proceed (happens quite often to me if I am not careful).
The mouse buttons could be be used instead for changing the pages of the quest text (left click = go to previous page, right click = go to next page).
Sorry for the long post (and the huge image).
Thank you so much for creating such a great mod. It has truly renewed my interest in questing.
Was just coming to look at what the update was and checked the change log, looks like you fixed the Azerite UI issues, I'll let you know if it doesn't work :)
Thank you so much for updating this mod, it makes the game so much more engaging, much <3
Hey, thanks for your amazing addon! It's really increased how much text I read, and it even works really well with auto accept and turn in mods.
One thing I've noticed is that mouse interactions tend to not work on panels that only have one page of text. You can't skip through to the next 'set' of pages when using the 'Show Toast Window' setting when there is only one page (usually quest turn in text fits on one page so it happens most here). If you have a bunch of page sets queued up with this setting turned on, you can click through them as normal so long as they have more than one page. Might be worth adding an extra page with <end> written if it's a hard fix, in fact it might be nice option instead of page numbers. I am using the latest version (1.0.4 as of writing this)
Thanks again for the amazing addon <3 <3

When i shiftclick a quest reward it opens the tooltip, but then disapeers like 1 second after, super annoying
If you're still having issues with the dialogue closing when turning in quests, comment your particular case as a reply to this. If you're unable to inspect Azerite gear, please update to 1.0.3 before commenting.

Brigadier Thom on Zuldazar (Castaway Encampment), just after you land there
Quests:
- Granting a Reprieve
- Disarming the Cannons
It replicates when abandoning and getting either or both quests afterwards.
