-- Version 2.0 BETA 3
Additions:
Pandaren and mogu artifacts are in. The list of artifacts for these two
races will display completed pristine artifacts, in addition to the rare and
common artifacts. They will not be counted for the total, however.
Several new achievements have been added to the tracker. The "Collector"
achievements have not yet been added, neither has the one for pristine
artifacts.
Fixes:
There was a silly memory issue with minimap icon display. This would create
a lot of icons in the same spot, and prevent most of them from disappearing
when they should. This has been fixed.
Known issues:
Occasionally, all pristine artifacts may display as incomplete. This is an
issue in Blizzard's quest API - if this happens, a relog should fix it.
Simply reloading your UI will not.
There have been reports of the minimap tracker placing icons when you pick
up currencies other than archaeology fragments. I have not seen this happen
myself, but I will look out for it.
-- Version 2.0 BETA 2
Additions:
Minimap tracking is back in! As before, whenever you pick up fragments, the
spot you're standing in will be displayed on your minimap whenever you're
nearby. If you install 2.0 over a version of Excavatinator older than 1.6,
your node settings will have been lost, however the nodes themselves should
be intact regardless of what previous version you have installed. There is
currently no way to change your settings.
Sharing node data is not implemented yet. Much of the code for it has been
written, but can not be accessed.
Node data is compatible between 2.0 and 1.6.1. All your found nodes will be
displayed in both versions, regardless of which version they were found in.
Pandaren and mogu lists are in! NOTE: These seem to be unfinished from
Blizzard's side; the Pandaren artifacts work fairly well, but the Mogu
artifacts don't even seem to be linked to the right project yet. These will
likely change much between now and MoP release. ALSO, minimap tracking will
eat up a lot of memory in Pandaria, so for now it has been turned off.
Fixes:
The minimap should no longer track the locations of currencies that aren't
fragments. That was a silly mistake of me to make.
Known issues:
The main frame seems to reset its position to the center sometimes. I don't
know yet what causes it.
-- Version 2.0 BETA 1 --
Additions:
The link frame is back in. The button is in the lower right, next to the
achievement button. The UI for linking has been changed. You first get a
list of projects without a matching item, then a list of undiscovered items
that match the race and rarity of the project you selected. Finally, you see
both the project and item (with icons), with a button at the bottom to link
the two. There is currently no way to un-link an item and a project (see
below).
Save data is compatible between 2.0 BETA and 1.6.1. Any links you have saved
from 1.6.1 (or before) will be intact in 2.0; any links you create in 2.0
will remain if you go back to version 1.6.1.
Changes:
The frame's position, and whether it's collapsed or not, is now saved
between sessions. It is also again clamped to the screen, meaning you can
not move it off the edge. If you need to not see it, just close it.
Fixes:
Races that you have not yet discovered, will not display any fragment count,
or list project information in its tooltip. You can still click these to
show a list of their artifacts.
Opening Excavatinator right after starting the game should no longer present
an issue. This was caching-related.
Known issues:
There is currently no way to un-link an item and a project. If you
accidentally linked two projects, shut down the game, open your saved data
file (WoW folder/WTF/Account/account name/SavedVariables/Excavatinator.lua
look under where it says "linkedProjects", and remove the incorrect line.
A way to unlink projects from within the addon will be added later. You can
also reinstall Excavatinator 1.6.1 and remove the link from there.
-- Version 2.0 ALPHA 4 --
Additions:
The achievement frame is back in. The button has got a new texture, because
the old one used a distorted version of the bottom bar achievement button.
It's also been moved to the bottom right.
The frame itself has all current achievements listed. Click functionality is
gone, instead you hover over the achievement to get more information about
what you need to do to complete it.
The collapse/expand button(s) are back in. They are now at the top, next to
the close button. When expanded, the race frame shows all races; when
collapsed, it shows only those for the continent you're on. When you move to
a different continent, the race frame will automatically update itself to
match the new continent.
Changes:
This had been done for an earlier version, but I did not note it then. The
slash command is now /arch, as it is in the current live version.
The race frame's information now updates when anything changes. The artifact
list will not update automatically, but re-opening it will display the
correct count for each item.
Fixes:
Artifact bars and counts should now be correct at all times. There's an
issue with the API where, if you try to retrieve the completion count of the
artifact you're currently working on at the wrong time, it'll return 0
regardless of how many times you've completed it before, or how you try to
get that number. That time is often the very same time you'd want to get
this count.
If there are incidents of counts being off, do tell me! Also, simply closing
the window and reopening it should sort it out.
Trying to open the addon's main frame in combat will now just print an error
to the chat log. If the window is already open, the travel- and item frame
buttons will disable until combat ends. Due to secure button restrictions,
these buttons would not work while in combat anyway.
The skill bar will now update when your skill increases. Yep, I forgot that.
Known issues:
Races that you have not yet discovered, will show another race's fragment
count.
On the first login after starting the client, Excavatinator will give an
error rather than loading properly.
-- Version 2.0 ALPHA 3 --
Additions:
The travel frame and items frame have been added back in. These have not
changed in terms of functionality. The achievement frame button is also
present, but the frame itself has not been added, so the button does nothing
for now.
All the default links are now active, so this addon now tracks the Crawling
Claw correctly, as well as five artifacts with mismatched project names in
French (which I believe is all of them, but there are some rares I don't
have that could be mismatched still). The ability to add more links is not
yet in.
Changes:
The total progress bar is back. You can click it to see a list of artifacts
you have not yet completed, or right click it to see a list of all artifacts
(used to be click for completed, right click for incomplete).
The overall progress bars for common and rare artifacts have been removed.
If anyone cares I can put them back in.
The skill bar is also present now. It has been moved to the top of the
frame, and looks different. The thick green bar shows your skill out of the
maximum skill you can reach with your current expansion level (as opposed to
just your current maximum), and the thin yellow bar below it shows how close
you are to your current maximum. This bar will change its colour to red when
you're within 15 points of that point. There is currently no other warning
when this happens. The entire skill tracking system will be invisible when
you're at the maximum number of points you can get.
-- Version 2.0 ALPHA 2 --
Additions:
The Survey button has been put in. It works precisely as it used to. The
artifact list is back in, click a race to see its artifacts. New about this
list is that it will sort your artifacts by number of times completed -
artifacts you've completed more of will show further up.
-- Version 2.0 ALPHA 1 --
Additions:
The basic race frame has been added in. Slash command: /excavatinator
You can right click a race to solve its artifact.
The frame won't update after being opened once; reload to fix.
