Changelog

Version 8.3.0.2 (Released Jan 16, 2020)

Changes:

- Fixed the ugly, bright-green background in dropdown menus.  This was caused by a bug, and occurred if you did not use the MikScrollingBattleText addon.  (Background color always should be black now.)

Version 8.3.0.1 (Released Jan 14, 2020)

Changes:

- Updated for WoW 8.3.0.1.

New Features:

 - Added "Show during Mouse Look" option.  When on, the cursor effect will remain visible while using the mouse to look around.

Version 8.2.5.1 (Released Sep 24, 2019)

Changes:

- Updated for WoW 8.2.5.

Version 8.2.0.6 (Released Aug 13, 2019)

New Features:

- Added slash

commands to create profiles for saving your settings.  Useful for switching the cursor effect when tanking, healing, DPSing, in a raid, solo, etc.

/ct save <profile name>
/ct load <profile name>
/ct delete <profile name>
/ct list

- Added new models:

"Object - Cat Mark, Green"
"Object - Cat Mark, Purple"
"Object - Cat Mark, White"
"Object - Hunters Mark"
"Object - Mark of the Wild"
"Spots - Puddle, Purple"
"Trail - Swirling, Orange"

- Added "Strata" option for controlling whether the trail effect is drawn behind or in front of other UI objects.  ("Background" is the bottom-most drawing layer, and "Tooltip" is the top-most.)

Changes:

- Renamed model category "Particle" to "Spots".
- Renamed models:

"Glow - Burning Cloud, Bloodlust" ---> "Glow - Cloud, Flame"
"Glow - Ring, Bones" ---> "Object - Ring of Bones"
"Trail - Swirling, Holy" ---> "Spots - Pulsing, Holy"
"Trail - Swirling, Poison" ---> "Trail - Pulsing, Green"
"Trail - Swirling, Yellow" ---> "Trail - Pulsing, Yellow"

Known Limitations:

- The cursor trail (effect) might not stay in sync with the mouse cursor when using addons that "artificially" change the screen area (such as the SunnArt addon).  The offset will be worse the further the mouse is from the center of the screen.

Version 8.2.0.5 (Released July 27, 2019)

Changes:

- Fixed bug causing the trail effect to disappear permanently after hiding & unhiding the WoW user interface.

- Added new model: "Trail - Freedom".
- Renamed model "Particle - Sparkle, White" to "Particle - Sparkle, Yellow".
- To prevent the possibility of not loading previously saved settings, CursorTrail will use 0.0.0.0 as its version number if it can't read the version from its TOC file.

Version 8.2.0.4 (Released July 24, 2019)

Changes:

- Fixed errors that said "AddOn 'CursorTrail' tried to call the protected function". (They were caused by the standard Blizzard popup menu, so it was replaced with a custom implementation (credit goes to Mikord). Also, all references to WorldFrame were removed, as they were potentially contributing to the problem.)

Note: As a result of fixing these errors, the trail effect is always drawn "behind" other windows/addons visible on screen. (Previously, some users may have seen it drawn above such windows.) A new option may be added in a future release for setting CursorTrail's drawing level (i.e. frame strata). Alternatively, you can edit the file, CursorTrail.lua, and uncomment the line ...
             ----CursorModel:SetFrameStrata("TOOLTIP")
by removing the dashes (----) at the beginning of it.

Known Limitations:

- The cursor trail (effect) might not stay in sync with the mouse cursor when using addons that "artificially" change the screen area (such as the SunnArt addon).  The offset will be worse the further the mouse is from the center of the screen.

Version 8.2.0.3 (Released July 19, 2019)

Changes:

- Reduced the number of errors occurring.  (I'm still investigating the cause of these errors, but the changes in this version should help a lot in the meantime.)

Known Issues:

- The cursor trail (effect) won't stay with the mouse cursor for monitor resolutions that are different from 1.6:1.  (That means extra wide monitors, and narrow "old style" monitors will have this problem.)

Version 8.2.0.2 (Released July 18, 2019)

New Features:
- Added a "Model" popup menu for selecting different cursor effects.
- Added "Fade out when idle" checkbox, for showing the cursor effect only when the mouse is moving.
- Added a more Default buttons with presets using some of the new models.
