ATSW is a complete replacement for Blizzards tradeskill window with more overview and special functions.
This replacement (works for all tradeskills, now even enchanting!) provides you with:
- a better overview
The ATSW is bigger than the standard window, resulting in a much better overview over the thousands of items you can produce. Additionally, it lets you sort your recipes either by groups (as in the standard window), alphabetically or by difficulty. Alternatively, ATSW even lets you create your own groups and sort the recipes the way you like!
ATSW also has a filter function: enter something into the filter line and ATSW hides all recipes that don't contain the text you entered. But this filter function can do more: it's a powerful search function that can filter for minimum/maximum level requirements, producable item counts, item rarity (color) and reagents necessary. Check out the readme for details on using this function!
- more comfort
The ATSW has a production queue: you can queue several different items and have them all produced automatically by just clicking one button.
The ATSW is able to consider items you have to produce in order to use them as reagents in the production of other items. So: if you need item A to produce item B, you don't have to manually produce first item A, then item B. The ATSW does that for you: you just tell it to produce item B and it automatically queues the production of item A and - afterwards - item B. If you are missing some reagents to produce both items you get a message telling you exactly which reagents you need.
ATSW helps you telling your friends what reagents you need for a specific item: just click on a recipe with your shift-key pressed and the chat line opened and the reagent info will be added to the chat line.
ATSW shows you what reagents you need to process the whole production queue. It even tells you how many of each reagent you have in your bank, on alternative characters on the same server (in this case, it can even tell you on which characters) and which reagents are buyable from merchants. In case of buyable reagents ATSW can automatically buy all missing and available items from a merchant when you are speaking to him.
Please note that ATSW has grown to be quite a complex addon and it might still contain some bugs. Please tell me if you encounter one so I can fix them.
ATSW is localized in german, english and french language.
Every addon I have personally installed, tested and review through the process of install and delete all have the same comment about the trade skill hyperlinks being broken since patch 5.4 hit. However I'm wondering since most trade skill addons rely on the trade skill hyperlinks working, and since the trade skill links still work in macros like /2 LFW [Enchanting]......Isn't there a way to redo the coding to work around the hyperlink and use some sort of similar coding that still works in macros instead of the typical use of hyperlink dependancy? Professions Vault, Professions Alt, Tradeskill Master (TSM), and Altoholic all do and state the same issue.....No longer functional as of September 2013 patch 5.4 due to Blizzard's change in code breaking the trade skill hyperlinks. Well if so many similar addons all rely on hyperlinks to be functional, isnt there a way to redesign the coding without using the hyperlink and use the direct link instead since it still works for macros?
sync09,
I can't reproduce this client crash. I've been using ATSW daily on six different alts. The only thing I haven't done is leave the code alone for a day, so a week is out of the question!
If you are willing to give it another go, please post a ticket on the Project Site (http://www.curseforge.com/projects/1790/) with your savedvariables, AdvancedTradeSkill.lua, just after a client crash.
Update: I just read here or at another site that if a character leaves the check box "Sort by Difficultity" and logs out, next time they open the trade skill window it will hard crash the Wow client. I ended up going to saved variables for that character and clearing the .lua file and I was able to get back to ATSW.
I did look at other trade addons but none of them seem to hit the sweet spot for me like ATSW does. They end up being either too simple or overly complex lol.
I have used ATSW for years and have relied on it heavily after every expansion. I thank everyone who is attempting to keep it going as the default wow UI is terrible and lazy programming on their part.
Unfortunately I am forced to quit using it. The addon now hard crashes the wow client and that is something I can't continue to deal with.
I have cleared the cache, fully cleared the addon itself and it always ends up the same. It first works fine then after more alt characters are using the addon it breaks after about a week of daily use.
I wish Blizzard would secure their sandbox better as an addon should not be crashing the game client.
It only took about 2 days of using the default Blizzard Tradeskill UI for me to start updating ATSW. I'm trying to figure out how best to proceed and have send a PM to the maintainer who appears to be the only one around.
I have fixed the subheader issue, added the Guild Bank, and done some cosmetic changes to the UI. The "create one and quit" issue is being stuborn about revealing its cause to me.
Ezraekman, I don't have a Mac so I can't see if the changes I've made will help, send me a PM and we'll see if we can work something out.
Freezes game client entirely (on a Mac, anyway), requiring a force quit.
Is there anyone around to create a 5.4 compatible version?
Is there anyone still around to produce a 5.4 compatible version?

Yep, and no one of them is in English.
The last update was produced by Slartibartfast on May 13th, but it looks pretty orphaned.
One of the other folks has managed to smash a couple of easy bugs (1 line fixes), but this one still is around.
Several work arounds have been suggested.
1) create 1, then create all
2) queue up stuff, then process the queue
3) create all, close and re-open craftskill and then hit continue queue after it stops
I'm pretty sure that this is a bug in ATSW. The fact that just by closing and re-opening the window and hitting "process queue" (click on the crafting icon twice, like smelting or leather working), makes ASTW process. Deleting the "remainder of the 'create all'" and redoing the 'create all' makes it increment the value from the previous queue, and may or may not start processing.
Is this addon is still supported?
What about "Create All" bug? Is there any intentions of fixing it?
As I've said at least 69,105 times, as pointed out by Jamak (:D) it's a bug in Blizzard's code, not ATSW. It happens in the standard UI too. (You can open that by holding shift and clicking on the craft skill)
The addon's only had TOC updates (just to mark it as not an 'old addon' for the game) since like late BC. It hasn't had a really substantial update in years. It still works...mostly... but is staggering along going "braaaains..."
In almost 5 years of playing, I have never seen the "stopping after 1, from create all" bug from the standard WOW crafting widget.
Again, closing and reopening the window (which doesn't lose any information) in ATSW always makes the procede continue normally.
What about annoying "Create All" bug? Will it be fixed? Is the addon still supported ?
When I open the ATSW Window by clicking on my profession, there is an invisible window in the upper left-hand corner of the screen. it's pretty big and i can mouse over things that show reagent info and stuff even though i can't see the window. makes it so i can't click on anything in that area with ATSW open.
Try this: Open ATSW so that you get the problem. Hit enter to open a chat , and paste this into it:
(stupid non-working preview button) That needs to be all one line. Move your mouse over the problem area, and hit enter. That should identify what the problem item is. If you can move the ATSW window by clicking on another part of it and dragging it and it works, it's an invisible window from something else.
Hello,
I just updated the french localization. I finished translating the few last untranslate items, corrected a lot of spelling mistakes and bad translations. I was wondering how I could transmit it to you...
The following issues don't cause LUA errors as far as I can tell but I still find them irritating (which is a shame as ATSW in every other way is an excellent addon):
1) This is my main source of irritation: Nearly half the time when I choose "Create all" I make a single item and then stop. If I then click "Empty queue" (even if the queue was already empty) and click "Create All" again it works, but I can't see any reason why this happens intermittently. It ALSO happens nearly every time a queue is being processed and it reaches the next item in the queue, which makes automating a crafting task and letting the automated queue deal with it pointless.
2) Pandaren "Ways" need to be integrated better. When I first open the ATSW window the different versions (e.g. "Way of the Oven") are initially highlighted, but as soon as I click on anything (even the scroll bar) the highlighting greys out and doesn't come back. I know I can search for the food I want to cook easily enough, but having the list split into the different "Ways" would make it SO much easier to use.
Sorry for the quibbles, butb ATSW is on my "must-have" list of addons so I just want it to be as close to perfect as it can be!
Hi PeteyPaladin,
regarding your point 1) Azaram hasn't been getting tired of mentioning it again and again (#1884, #1856, #1809), so I'll just quote her/him:
And Azaram's comment concerning "automating ... pointless" (#1849):
As to your point 2) We would all like that - sadly the author Slartibartfast doesn't seem to be working on this addon anymore - either for lack of time or because he has stopped playing WoW. I just hope it's a temporary lack of time :)
Cheers.
