Hello! I'm very excited to share this project with you 💕

While testing the skin textures I've been working on, the Maxis teeth began to look flat and gray, so I decided to work on a set of replacements! (Please see images tab for previews~)

These will replace all human adult frame (Teens, adults, young adults, and elders) teeth except for Island Living's shark teeth, which will be part of an upcoming spooky set🦇~

Marble teeth are gameplay-friendly! As noted in the comparison pictures, Marble teeth have less tris than their Maxis equivalents, which means they're really low-poly.
Like Maxis teeth, these have LOD versions which means that when the camera is zoomed out, they won't have detailed teeth anymore.
Marble teeth are default overrides! They replace the Maxis teeth rather than appear in addition to them.
Marble teeth are Maxis match! I think, however, they are pretty versatile. They might look a bit cartoony in the mouth of a very realistic sim, but they have enough texture to look right with an in-betweeny sim.
In the "CAS PREVIEW" image, the mouths are untouched screenshots--however I am using Northern Siberia Wind's indispensable [Gentle Cas Lighting Mod] which evens out the harsh lighting in CAS. I highly recommend it, as well as NSW's [Better In-Game Lighting Mod] (or [Even Better In-Game Lighting Mod] which I am yet to try, but very excited about) which improves the lighting during gameplay. I can't guarantee all the teeth will look great without a mod that softens the shadows, but few things in the game do. The default lighting is quite harsh!
For simplicity's sake, this is a merged package with all teeth included, but if you'd prefer only to replace some of the teeth in the game, I'll update this post with the individual packages.
The grills are from Get Famous, so if you don't have that pack, they won't show up. I can add base game compatible versions if you'd like.

**⚜️Note!⚜️**

Unfortunately, quite a few Maxis hair textures overlap a lot of things they shouldn't. On the picture below, I've outlined the area of a texture that Maxis reserves for teeth. On the right picture, I've overlaid a bunch of different hair textures from the game to show how many of them overlap part of the teeth (and the inside of the mouth!)

You may not have noticed it before as much of the texture overlap is on the molars. The texture of the short box braids from High School Years also leaks significantly out into the cheek. Here it is with the Maxis buckteeth:

I've circled that part of the mouth on a sim's default UV map below.

Most Marble teeth have a more compact texture than the Maxis ones, and I tried to avoid the bottom half of the designated texture space, but you'll notice the bleed in some cases. Outside of pestering Maxis to fix their hair textures or overriding them myself I can't think of a solution that wouldn't reduce the quality of the Marble set's textures.
Since the box braids have the most significant texture leak, I'm including a fixed override as an optional extra. I've just trimmed the texture so it stays on the hair where it belongs. If you notice any hairstyles or other CAS items which bleed onto the teeth, I'd be happy to make more overrides.

It was a lot of fun making these, and I learned a lot. I wanted to keep these simple, so I tried to stop before I went overboard, but if you're interested in:

more swatches (shades of the teeth enamel, braces colors, grill shades, etc),
a bigger variety of teeth (toothy quirks, pointy cuspids, more prominent buck teeth)
a Marble set for little sims
