RareDar helps you track and locate rare mobs that are in your proximity.
Installation and Usage
-
RareDar has a small window that shows a radar screen. It detects when you're in a zone/area that might have rare mobs, and if so, changes the radar screen color to green. Left-clicking the green radar screen trys to target all mobs that might be close, so you have an increased chance of spotting them.
-
Right-Clicking the "RareDar" text shows a menu of known Zones, from where you can select the zone you're in (or you're interested in). This will open an info panel below the main window containing the name, area, and coordinates of a mob in that zone. Clicking the left/right Arrows will cycle through the mobs, making it easy to set waypoints and ride to them consecutively. In that info panel, mobs that you've already killed will be shown in green, mobs that are missing are red, making it easier to check spawn points of mobs you're needing only.

Since Version 0.7, whenever you find a rare mob, RareDar will send a message about that to other connected RareDar users. And when RareDar receives a "mob found" message, it will tell you who it was and which mob they found. This allows you to quickly tell them "please wait for me, i've been hunting this mob for ages!". Of course, you decide who to send information to, if anyone at all, and if you want or don't want to get a message when someone else finds a mob. Type /raredar config to open the config screen.
-
If you want to get a route to all known locations of the mobs you're missing, see the TomTom addon.
If you have any suggestions regarding mob names, positions, or bugs in RareDar, please post them here.

Latest Patch broke this amazing addon, please update it!
1.10 Just launched and its showing an incompatibility with RareDar.
Love this addon and hope I can use it again soon.
i get the chat notice when im near a rare but i can not get the window to open with /raredar show. i even checked to make sure it wasnt hiding behind my ui.
Hey, just a suggestion for a future update, and maybe it's just not possible, but I would love it if once you killed a rare mob it removes it from being tracked. I know the addon can tell if I have already killed them or not, I just don't know how easy (or possible) it would be to make it stop sending the message that it's close. For example I have all the Freemarch rares, but it still sends me messages when I'm close to them.
Thank you and I love the addon.
I think this is a good addon, but needs a few features if possbile.
1) Make available the current postion and direction on minimap of character. Like a semitransparent compass with a grid coordinates marker on RareDar.
2) Allow ability to set way-points on minimap to desired locations directly using selected target mob spawn points.
3) Using a real RADAR likw image to show actual targets relative in distance and direction to character, just like a RADAR.
Thanks for the update! Great Work!
Firstly, thanks for the addon!
One feedback would be making a TOGGLE option, instead of static show/hide, which consumes too much effort, so to speak!
Cheers!
Thanks for the update & great work!
Have just installed the upgrade - I cant get the window to appear - have typed in /raredar show, the text appears that the window is showing - but now window to be seen.
My next request... how about a way to disable this when in Conquest. Stillmoor is the zone, but no mobs are there...
There is a typo in the coordinates for the rarespawn "Mad Hogger" located in Iron Pine Peak. The coordinates in data.lua are "7337, 2014", which would place the mob somewhere in Three Springs in Moonshade Highlands. Correct coordinates (for one spawn area, at least) would be "3773, 2014"
Found a missing Rare from Stonefield name Ashandara located at 4477, 5019. She stands on the back side of a rock & ambushes people as they ride past.
This is one of the best addons ever! Thank you, I have found more rares using this addon!
Found 6 rares in a matter of a few hours. All of a sudden the add on stopped working. I can not move the icon and it won't detect or allow me to tab over to add ons in the area I'm at. Not sure what happened. I tried to uninstall and re-install but not luck. Any suggestions?
From my research into this, I believe the add on was not responding because of "Conquest" and the "Lag" that is is causing. It started to work fine after the Lag went down.
When I zone into some raids or a warfront, I believe I get this error. Perhaps the player variable isn't initialized all yet.

I like this addon a lot! It needs an update for 1.9 though. Is there one incoming?
I'd like to see an option that addon marks the locations on map when click on names and the alarm range is not limited in melee range.
The green names indicate that you already have killed this rare mob, red mean that you haven't killed that rare mob yet. A white name indicate that this rare mob are not part of a achievement and RareDar therefore don't know if you have killed it before. I have updated the description with this information.
I like the idea of your raredar but I need instructions on what your addon does. Why are some names green and others red and others white? does your addon tell you if they are spawned or just the area they are in? Please clarify the features.
Thanks
Just wanted to drop in to say you're doing a great job Karl!
Jhorm in droughtlands dont work, it targets mobs in Shimmer like the Swirling Tempest, thats NOT a rare spawn, please do your best to update this mod. One of the best ones for rift
