Description
The map is ReImagined version of Quicksand from Starcraft II.
The project idea was not just copy map from the game, but make it look as if it was added first of all to the Minecraft and also make it playable in stacraft II style with a mod Reign of Nether RTS (1.19.2).
How was it succesful or bad you can check it by yourself.
There's three types of map (classic, borderless and flooded). Each of them has it's unique mechanics.
...And also cool hub (0 50 -573 for v1.0.4) (82 28 -103 for pre v1.0.4).
Classic
Mostly reminds starcraft.
- Units are blocked to fall from cliffs.
- Player spawns are marked by quartz.
- No random trees, ores and animals (atleast on start).
- There are 12 resource spots.
- Some of resource spots resource spots between players on low ground.
- Rich ore resource spots in the middle of map.
- The map designed by itself to always have a lack of ores so it's should stimulate players to expand them more.
- Rich ore resource spots don't provide more ore, it's simply much faster to mine it since there much lesser amount of ore blocks (11 vs 16).
- Starting resource spots has 250 additional food for faster economic development on the start or more aggressive gameplay.
- No places for bridges.
Borderless
More friendly for pathfinding.
- Units not blocked to fall from cliffs, but still unable to fall from the corners of map.
- Mostly reminds classic version, has no significant changes.
Flooded
This is where aggressive gameplay begins.
- Map is flooded with water & lava (3:1).
- Low ground is flooded too, that means only 9 resource spots.
- No barriers and cliff restrictions, except map edges.
- Very friendly with bridges (especially on
lavawater).
