So why is my ME system going offline every time i try and take ANYTHING out?
In reply to dragondevil32:
usually means the system does not have enough power storage, add some power cells to ME
So i've got autocrafting set up but sometimes when a machine finishes itll send the item right back into the same machine and cause a bunch of issues with my autocrafting clogging up with random items not properly going through. no idea wth is going on
Edit: It started happening with almost all my machines causing my stuff to not craft half the stuff and say its working on it. i have no idea whats going on but the system is almost like rebeling agaisnt the autocrafting im asking it to do.
Some constructive feedback which hopefully doesn't come across as overly negative:
- A lot of these recipes are pretty strange and seem to require too many materials. A standard ingot is about 5kg. In the mod, it takes 2 ingots to make one plate, and 2 plates to make a lot of items. That means we're ending with things like 10kg shears and 20kg batteries. This was especially discouraging when it took mining out 3 separate veins before finding a reliable supply of iron. I've yet to find any copper after 5 veins.
- This is all before I've passed manual mining which is making the early game take longer than normal. The description on this page seems to indicate that I should be out of this stage earlier in comparison to other modpacks.
- I can't say I'm a fan of changing the recipes for vanilla items. That gates you from doing certain basic starter tasks like making a bed or quickly gathering food with the flint and steel method.
- Some of the items removed from mods were simple QoL improvements. One example is the Storage Crate Keeper from Actually Additions. I didn't realize it was missing until I had a crate full of stuff so I had to just cheat for it with the item ID.
I definitely want to keep going to see what the mid- and endgame look like, so don't think these are preventing me from continuing. This has the potential to be the most unique modpack I've come across and I'm excited to see where it goes from here.

I think you misunderstand the basic concept of GregTech Community Edition and Omnifactory in general.
Once you start getting machines, these recipes change. Instead of needing 2 ingots per plate, you can use the Compressor to make them with a single ingot. Also, attempting to apply real world weights and measures to Minecraft has always been a folly. I mean, you can carry 64 meter cubed blocks of gold without breaking a sweat.
As far as a reliable source of iron, you need to read the quest documentation, because it really isn't hard. You can immediately smelt Iron Ore, Banded Iron Ore, Magnetite, and either type of Limonite into iron ingots. Magnetite deposits are extraordinarily common and typically pretty shallow. They also have gold in them as well. Once you run into your first Magnetite deposit, your iron worries are pretty well over until you start getting into the machine age itself.
For copper, again you need to actually read the quests, because both Tetrahedrite and Calcopyrite deposits are copper ores. I'm betting you've found them several times, and just weren't aware of what they were.
This isn't a kitchen sink pack, it has much documentation in the quest line, and requires that you read and understand it if you are going to get anywhere in this pack. If you don't want to do that, maybe this pack isn't for you.
does anyone know how to enable lost cities for omnifactory server
idk where to post but in the quest book the coin shop doesn't show up at all.
In reply to timeconstant063:
Since version 1.1.0 the coin shop has been replaced by the Bountiful system. You can craft items using the coins.
In reply to belth245:
i haz problem
is there anywhere to send bugreports? Game crashes on create new world
Does this have the extraplanetary elements of Advanced Rocketry? I've been wanting to get into that and considered doing something like Lapito's Galacticraft but that's not oriented toward solo play. I've done some searching but Google is failing me. Looks like beta versions had ExtraPlanets but it's no longer in the pack.
can you please tell me how to change the map setting in the server for omnifactory to make it use the lost citys gen instead of the default gen?
Is there no ME Controller or do i need to unlock it first somehow?
In reply to Maniac2323
Im Pretty sure controllers as well as channels are disabled, so it behaves like AE1 I believe.
In reply to we177524:
oh okay, havent played with AE1 so i guess i need to check some old tutorials how it worked.
In reply to Maniac2323:
I believe it works the same as ae2, except no need to worry about how many channels your devices are using. I will say, despite channels being a pain in the butt, it was super satisfying to get a 8x8 panel array connected up properly
Channels are disabled in this pack, so the controller is unnecessary. Just use the power supply and you're all good!
