Now for Minecraft 1.20.1!
Mister Wiggly (see him on Twitch @ https://www.twitch.tv/misterwiggly ) set out to upgrade Cuboid Outpost from the original 1.16 version and, along with a little help from his community, and a lot of help from Leialoha (who updated the Cuboid Outpost Support Mod to make this possible), has independently gone ahead and done it!
There are a few changes due to some mods no longer being available, and a few new bits and bobs, but basically it's an update that is faithful to the original pack intent.
Apart from being the original author of the pack, and providing a few small pointers in some of the development streams, this is all thanks to Mister Wiggly, Leialoha, and Mister Wiggly's Twitch community.
Please note that there is no upgrade path from the 1.16.5 version to the 1.20.1 version so you will need to start a new instance.

The basics:
You're stranded on a barren planet, life as you knew it has come to an abrupt end, and you need to recreate civilization. There are a few twists and turns along the way of course!
You start off at Cuboid Outpost 42, with minimal supplies but some decent equipment, only to find out that the Science Division at Cuboid Corp (tm) have accidentally started a chain reaction that very shortly will bring about the total annihilation of your home planet. Effectively, you're stranded! Luckily there was just enough time for your supervisor to put together a digital survival guide to help you survive, restart life, and even travel to new dimensions. It'll involve a bit of hard work, but you're up to the task, right?
What's different in this Luxury Edition?
Cuboid Outpost was my first attempt at creating a ModPack for Minecraft. It's been amazingly well received - way beyond my hopes and expectations. This Luxury Edition version of the pack is for players / communities with higher-spec machines to play on.
The original pack was made with a view to making it accessible to as many people as possible, and therefore was aimed at being fairly light, and I've resisted adding more mods so as to still let people with Potato PC's play. I want to stick to that as much as possible for the original pack, but due to the number of people asking (repeatedly) for a few extra building blocks to choose from and some quality of life mods too, I've decided to release the same pack with some nice-to-have mods included. That's this pack!
The quest and storyline remains unchanged, as does the progression - but there are now a few more things available to build with, a few more gadgets to make, and some real quality of life additions. If you haven't got a Potato PC, you might want to try this version of the pack. If you try this version and your PC is struggling, I suggest you try playing the original Cuboid Outpost instead.
Who this pack is for:
I designed this to be more of a beginner to intermediate tech pack for those just getting into Modded Minecraft, or who are looking for something not too hard / expert, or if you're just wanting something to play that's a tiny bit different. As a result, while there are quite a few mods in the pack, I've intentionally kept the number of alternatives for things low (e.g. for digital storage there's only Applied Energistics 2 at first, but channels are disabled to make it easier to work with - Refined Storage becomes available later on), and the storyline requirements for mods are very light for the most part.
Some great content mods have been added too to keep things interesting and a bit different. And then there are a few unique mods that you won't have seen in any other pack before too - so hopefully there's something for everyone.
What you can expect:
- A slightly different start to most packs
- A skyblock-like experience without the skyblock. In other words, a bit of mining, a bit of Ex Nihilo Sequentia, and some "odd" recipes
- A lot of quests
- New ores, items, blocks and machines specifically made for this modpack
- A different way to get to the Nether or the End (at least the first time!)
- Some additional content mods to give a richer experience in the End and the Nether (as well as in the final dimension)
- A mod pack you could rush through, but would probably enjoy taking your time on
- ... and hopefully a bit of fun along the way!

Special Thanks (Original 1.16 version)
I'd like to extend special thanks (in no particular order) to the following people, without whom this pack would not exist:

- Ashrem, Chaynne, DelfCo, Wildersteak and Chris S. for helping with the early beta testing.
- Ector Vynk - for his YouTube series' on modded minecraft and his Twitch streams - lots of his ideas and commentary helped me formulate my own mod and modpack ideas.
- Benbenlaw - his Seaopolis modpack was inspirational (play it if you haven't done so yet!)
- SilentChaos512 - for his YouTube series on creating 1.16 mods
- Thomas at TechnoVision - for his YouTube series on modded minecraft with Forge
- BlakeBr0 - for Extended Crafting's Compressor, which I based my Quantum Collapser idea on.
- Qelifern (pizzaatime), XenoMustache - for Iron Furnaces, which I based my simplified furnaces on.
- cpw, alexbegt, progwml6 - for Iron Chests, which I based my (dumbed-down) chests on.
- 852Duarte, P3NG00 - for More Crafting Tables, which I based my crafting tables on.
- kwpugh - for inspiration for the Smashers, based on the Hammers in the Easy Steel & More mod.
