For 1.14:
If you are getting errors on launch saying "no such method" or something similar, you likely need to install kottle.
This mod now requires kottle to run, however the game can NOT detect if kottle is installed.
If you DO have kottle installed but you are still getting an error, please report it as a bug here.
To use a yoyo, right click it and it will throw out. While out, the yoyo will follow where you look and do damage to anything it touches. Right click again to pull it back in.
If you get too far away from a yoyo, you will be pulled towards it.
Crafting
Yoyos need 4 of the desired material, a stick, and a chord to craft a yoyo.
The cords are crafted with 8 string in a circle.
The Shear Yoyo
By combining an iron yoyo with shears, you can give the functionality of shears to your toy-weapon. It allows for the yoyo to cut grass and flowers and plants and stuff and to shear sheep and mooshrooms without damaging them.
The Yohoe
If putting shears on a yoyo made it work like shears, there's no reason putting a hoe on it wouldn't work, right? The Yohoe can harvest crops and replant them, while also tilling any soil that passes underneath it.
The Sticky Yoyo
At the cost of damage, you can combine a diamond yoyo with some sticky slimeballs to allow your toy to stick to blocks. Could be useful for getting around, considering you can reel yourself in and out from the yoyo once it's stuck.
Enchanting
Yoyos can be enchanted just like any weapon. They can have Sharpness, Looting, Unbreaking, etc.
In addition to the vanilla enchantments, yoyos can be enchanted with collecting. Collecting allows yoyos to pick up items, and the number of items it can pick up depends on the level of the enchantment.
Tinkers'
Yoyos and You
I've included an in-game guide book for everything tinkers' yoyos. It has information about all of the modifiers, as well as stats for every material you can use to craft your yoyos.
If you want to have a read, you just need to combine your trusty Materials and You with a yoyo cord.
Building the yoyo
The yoyo is made in the tool forge using an axle, two bodies, and a cord.
The different parts are crafted as usual in a part builder or by casting.
Parts
The cord determines how far away from you the yoyo gets.
The bodies determine the damage and movement speed.
The axle has a durability multiplier.
Both the cord and axle have friction, which determines how long the yoyo can stay out.
Modifiers
- Shear
- Gives the behavior of the shear yoyo to any tinkers' yoyo.
- Applied with shears.
- Farming
- Gives the behavior of the yohoe to any tinkers' yoyo.
- Applied with a diamond hoe.
- Extension
- Each level lengthens the yoyo's cord by 2 blocks.
- Requires 16 string per level.
- Can be applied with string.
- Can be applied with a Cord, counting as 8 string.
- Floating
- Makes the yoyo lighter, allowing it to move faster.
- Applied with a pufferfish.
- Lubricated
- Allows the yoyo to spin for longer, increasing it's duration.
- Applied with an inksack.
- Gluey
- At the cost of damage, allows your yoyo to stick to blocks
- Allows you to reel yourself in
- Applied with two slimeballs
Botania
Yoyos can be made with materials from Botania, and have abilities appropriate for each tier.
First, of course, you need to make some cord out of manastring.
The Manasteel Yoyo
Behaves similarly to a shear yoyo, cutting down shrubs and leaves and such.
The Elementium Yoyo
It can inherently collect items, equivalent to a yoyo with Collecting I. Any further enchantment increases the item limit.
The Terra Chaser
With a whistle and the swing of your fist, it will seek out an enemy and attack it. The Terra Chaser needs mana to do so, however.
It can also be combined with an elementium yoyo to give the Terra Chaser the ability to collect items.
If you think something is too overpowered, underpowered, or broken in general, please, let me know. Balancing is hard to do without any testers.
If you find any bugs, please report them on GitHub.
Feel free to use this in any modpack you might be developing.
Feel free to add compatibility with any mod you might be developing.
In 1.14.4, all yoyos except the Sticky Yoyo are not working.
My right click did noting, the yoyo never go out. I just saw the cord appear for a frame, then nothing happened.
(Sticky Yoyo just function perfectly. I am using Yoyos and Kottle mods only.)
In reply to GOJiong:
Sorry about that. Just to make sure, you are using the latest version, 2.0.0.3, right? I don't have internet in my house right now, so the soonest I can fix it is Saturday.
In reply to jozufozu:
Same for me, latest version with just Yoyos and Kottle. Looking forward to your update. Thanks!
In reply to jozufozu:
I am using the latest version of Yoyos for 1.14.4 and I am also having this issue.
Yoyos versiono 1.14.4-2.0.0.3
Kottle version 1.1.1
MC Forge version 1.14.4-forge-28.1.0
Sticky Yoyo can be thrown as intended and can be used as a grapple.
Sheer Yoyo doesn't sheer and cannot be thrown
Wood, Cobblestone, Iron, Gold & Diamond Yoyos cannot be thrown but are effective melee weapons, using them as melee weapons causes the Yoyo to take no durability damage. (Exploitable)
When right-clicking with the Yoyo, the throwing animation appears to start but is interrupted and the yoyo does not get thrown.
This isn't a bug but it would be cool: Sticky Yoyos should be able to stick to mobs and enable you to pull mobs torward the player.
thanks for makeing this lovely mod i love it the slime yoyo is fun :D
Hey, may I add yoyos to my item mod craft and hunt?
In reply to aavri:
If you're talking about adding mod integration with yoyos then I'm all for it! I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have about the code, too
In reply to jozufozu:
I'm actually having trouble setting mod integration with yoyos. It's mostly due to myself being new-ish to Java modding.
my game says on startup : cannot load yoyos, no found way or something like that.
In reply to Vsienme:
You need to have kottle installed. I'll add something to the description
GOOD BYE JOJO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
*Dio goes away*
How do you repair Yoyos ?
Just wanna ask, do you have a clue on what the twitch app is thinking, it claims your mod is made by a guy named Raven2396, if this is just twitch being weird and using an older name of yours, or another account as you don't have twitch (which is linkable with forge accounts), or someone re-uploading your mod, Either with or without permission, either way I Just wanted to inform you, by the way great mod!
In reply to soundwavefoxgaming:
Thanks for the concern! But yeah, that's twitch being weird. It was my username when I made my curseforge account 6ish years ago, but I've since merged it with my twitch account named Jozufozu. Sorry for the confusion, glad you're enjoying it!
In reply to jozufozu
Thanks for clarifying! I have this mod in a personal pack using the Twitch launcher, so when I added it I was confused with the fact it wasn't the same name, I played using your mod about a few months after setting up modded Minecraft on my computer, so I know a bit about this mod although I haven't started on the yoyo's yet in my Twitch pack, again thanks for clarifying.
I absolutely love this mod! Have you considered doing compatibility with Mystical Aggraditions’ Essences since those are TiCon compatible?
lol le tienen que dar un aplauso a este señor esta bastante bueno es que estava buscando mods y eran malicimos y ahora este que esta muy bueno!!!
In reply to matirex1772:
I was thinking hoeyo, it sounds better in my head.
