Question about potential future content:Do you plan to add a multiblock function? Rcistano asked how big they could be, then responded after you had hold them that the default tank holds 55buckets, that he thought they would be Silo style, as in, a multiblock structure, that the more you add, the more liquids it holds. I think it would be kinda cool to be able to do that, where you could stack barrels on top of each other, and they would link up, or you could place them next to each other, making them grow wider, but not actually contain more fluid than the original 4 barrels.If you have plans like that, it would be super awesome, but if not, c'est la vie.Also, do you plan to add an item storage barrel? I think it would be fun to store things like crops or mob drops. were 1 item would take up about 100Mb each (1000Mb = 1 bucket for those who don't know) meaning you could store 550 items in a barrel. Or, if you want to balance it so barrels are better than chests, then items would be 25mb each, allowing you to store 2200 items (A chest holds 27 stacks of 64, adding up to 1728 items)
Currently I have no plans for the first one as it would be quite difficult to implement (I may change my mind about this in the future). Your second suggestion is extremely unlikely to happen (at least in this mod), YOT is focused on fluids.
Silo-wise wouldn't be hard at all - Just run a check in the onUpdate() on Tank A to see if there's another below it (Tank B), if so get the quantity of Tank B, if it's below max then remove some from Tank A and add it to Tank B. It's effectively how pipes and cables work in most mods which add pipes and cables ;)
Side by side would be a little more challenging, because you'd have to balance the fluids to an even level instead of just moving from one to another.
YOT barrels already automatically output to the bottom (if it's enabled in the config) ;)

Can fluids only be piped in the top and extracted out the bottom, or can you come from any side?
That is the default config, however it can be modified in the config file (config/shadowfacts/YeOldeTanks.cfg).

Looks neat! Do they have any indicating feature of what they're holding aside from rendering the actual fluid? And do they close and render lids?
Both Waila and the Dipping Stick can be used to show what fluid and how much of it is stored.
You can Shift+Right-click the barrel with an empty hand to toggle the lid state. While the lid is on, fluids cannot be inserted into the top. There's a screenshot of this in the Images section.
Looks great. One more question; Can they be picked up without losing their contents, or no?
Yep, when they're broken they retain their contents!
