Weighted inventories is about adding weight mechanics into the minecraft game for the player. This makes steve limited on the amount of items/blocks he can pick up. If he happens to have too much in his inventory from trying to cheat he drops it. The heavier you are the slower you get.
Description:
This is a complete re-write off of weighted inventories from mc 1.3.2. It's gotten a better and Semi more Dynamic System and is highly configurable along with things actually working this time. It encourages the use of minecarts and general watchingness of your inventory weight.
This highly encourages people to use minecart with chest and furnaces for transportation and storage.
Weight and Effects

Medium Weight@50%:

Features Ideas/Request are welcome
Note: I will not be porting till mc 1.13(waiting for stable mc version with acceptable ids for modpack making)
Suggestion (for whoever, I guess): items in inventories (shulker boxes, IE crates, backpacks) should still have weight, but reduced by a factor. As it is, shulker boxes pretty much obviate weight management.
Hey did you ever port it to 1.12?
In reply to vikingfriend:
all my projects are on hold until my mod loader and file de duper project has been completed
In reply to jredfox_:
Is this open source? I'm not trying to be rude or anything I just need this for my modpack. I would even pay for a port to 1.12.2
In reply to vikingfriend:
the source is the jar have fun updating it to 1.12.2 by yourself to the latest beta of evil notch lib
It appears that WeightedInventories does not work in TerraFirmaCraft, it could be because the inventory that TFC has isn't the default vanilla one, it overwrites it
1.13?
In reply to GuardianJames:
not likely. 1.14 or 1.15 when they clean up all the freaken unsuitability bugs that effect performance both server and client side.
this will get a re-write for 1.12.2
Hotfix for german clients and configuration re-write starting next month
Finally! The mod I've been looking for.
Thanks for this and for sticking to 1.7.10, my favorite MC version. This would fit wonderfully into any realism-focused industrialized modpack, making players actually use all their sofisticated tube/pipe transportation systems, railroads and trucks instead of magically carrying loads of heavy stuff in their pockets. Also this allows for balancing of some really OP armors: for higher protection you pay with heavy weight.
Notes:
It seems no items/blocks from other mods are affected, though: steel pickaxe from Railcraft, for example, still weights 1.0 and not 2.5 as default config shows. Hope you'll do this one day so I could enjoy playing with this excellent mod.
Also, noticed odd calculation of item/block weight inside backpacks from Backpack mod: with a stack of Iron blocks inside (1920.0) the backpack weights 961.0
Ideas/requests for the future (just for the sake of it, this mod is still awesome even w/o these):
- add a config option to make player unable to move at all if severely overburdened;
- Strength enchantments increase max. player carrying capacity by X (configurable);
- some weaker blocks may break under overburdened player (configurable);
- increased fall damage when overburdened (configurable).
Thanks for your work!
In reply to Hexen:
My beta tester noticed a bug crashing with languages that use , as decimals like German. This will be fixed in the configurations re-write in the mean time change your argument to any other language that doesn't use , as decimals. The re-write of the configurations won't be happening for about a month though so hold tight. I have a coremod to finish and stabilize first.
Sorry it's been awhile no I haven't stopped the planned custom weight entries update. I am going to start it soon though. I need to make a couple interfaces, apis one or two features for EvilNotchCore first as it's still not ready.
if you give credit and wait a week to mirror the download link I will be adding features
