Traverse aims to expand upon, but not replace or overshadow, Minecraft biomes. Traverse embraces the simplistic nature of many vanilla biomes and the goal is to have the biomes fit in just right so that Mojang could add them into the base game and nobody would complain that they felt out of place.
Traverse requires Fabric Loader and Fabric API

Biomes:
- Autumnal Woods
- Coniferous Forest
- Desert Shrubland
- Flatlands
- Lush Swamp
- Snowy Coniferous Forest
- Woodlands
Images of the biomes can be found on the Images page.
Other Mods by Terraformers:
Check out Traverse's sister mod, Terrestria:
Terrestria works well alongside Traverse if you are looking for a more extensive biome enhancement experience. Terrestria has a lot of highly unique and detailed biomes that may exceed the "Vanilla+" category that Traverse fits into.
Check out the Terraformers Nether biome expansion, Cinderscapes:
Cinderscapes complements Traverse by providing an expansion to the nether, much like Traverse does to the overworld. Cinderscapes brings more life and beauty to the nether, while also keeping it frightening.
Campanion, your camping companion:
Campanion adds various tools and utilities to help improve your adventures away from your home. Campanion also works well alongside Traverse in order to make the exploration of Traverse biomes even more fun.
Traverse is a mod for Fabric, and there are no plans to port this mod to Forge.
However, another team is maintaining a Forge fork of this mod at Traverse: Legacy Continued.
Traverse: Legacy Continued is unaffiliated with Terraformers, so please do not ask us for support regarding their mod.
will there be a forge port
In reply to TP0seJohn:
dude they literally said that there arent plans for forge
Given that the mod is looking to now use terrablender, will you potentially do a forge port given that terrablender exists for forge too? (1.18.2 / 1.19)
In reply to welpstudent:
It’s more possible now yes, and we’ve had a bit of discussion about it, however no decision has been made and unless we have a random boost of free time it’s still extra development. There is a forge version available by another developer in the meantime though.
In reply to NeusFear:
Any update on this statement?
I'd rather add some new biomes than work on porting to Forge, personally. Not because I've got anything against Forge but simply because working on new biomes is more fun. Also, the maintenance work for the Terraformers biome mods takes nearly all the time I can devote to them at the moment, so it's probably not feasible anyway until/unless we get another maintainer onboard.
Cool, but i wish Terrestria was updated as well. Looking forward for it.
Sir
When 1.18? Love this mod :)
Hello mod team,
i'm compiling a modpack at the moment for 1.18.1 fabric that i'm hoping to include Traverse in for some more variety in biomes and more interactions with the campanion mod. do you have any idea yet of a likely timeframe for a 1.18.1 version?
as an aside, does this mod have any known issues with the Terralith mod?
thank you for your time
Hey, Traverse is amazing. I featured the mod on my recent video. Great work!
Hello Terraformers MC team! I really hope that, now with the release of the Fabric version of Terrablender from the Glitchfiend Team, we could see Traverse as well as Terrestria for Minecraft 1.18.1!
In reply to StuarteLitro:
We've finally had a chance to chat with them and they've updated their license to be acceptable for our use. We hope that we can use it now!
That's wonderful news, man! You've done a great job with these mods! I'm definitely looking forward that!
I really love this mod. I've used quite a few biome mods and this is for sure one of my favorites! Looking forward to future updates. Thanks for all the hard work.
1.18?
Does this mod spawns Stone Buttons on the ground? Cant find the culprit what an idiot came with such idea to bring hidden features(not sure which mod still looking through entire mod list).
Broke one of your own rules, no overshadowing vanilla biomes. Cool mod, but autumnal forest shouldn't be so common.
really want to see how this will go when 1.18 releases
ironically or not, the Forge port has way more downloads than the original Fabric version.
Fabric is underrated, I wish it had more recognition
