Getting Started with Spell Casting

Find amethyst in the world
Craft a Basic Wand
Find or craft a bone block, and right click it with your wand to make Salis Mundus
Craft a few Pedestals
Craft a Spell Binding Station
Craft your spells! (Pedestal and Spell recipes are found in JEI)
Put your wand into a Spell Binding Station along with your chosen spells
After binding your spells in the Spell Binding Station, hold your wand in hand and hold R (configurable) to hover over and select your spell by releasing R
Hold Right Click with your Wand in-hand to cast!

Note: Some spells require certain items to be consumed on use.

Items

Pedestal - Used for pedestal crafting and showing off items

Spell Binding Station - Used for binding spells onto and off of wands

Empowered Lantern - Used for lighting up entire cave systems! (cave illuminator)

Amethyst Wand - A basic spell casting wand used for utility and combat

Elandor's Charm - A way to see the radius of certain blocks like the Warding Lantern

Warding Lantern - Repels, damages, and sets fire to hostile mobs!

Salis Mundus - The foundation of magical recipes, made from life essences found in bone

Higher damage to the undead. Occasionally sets blocks on fire.

Firebolt - Shoots a simple fire projectile that damages enemies

Fireball - Shoots a large fire projectile that heavily damages enemies and destroys blocks, setting some on fire

Fire Sprite - Summons a fire whisp that follows the player and attacks mobs, setting them on fire

Useless against the undead. Freeze water sources. Slows enemies.

Ray of Frost - Shoots a simple ice projectile that damages and slows enemies

Cone of Cold - A blast of ice projectiles, dealing heavy damage and freezing enemies

Ice Sprite - Summons an ice whisp that follows the player and attacks mobs, slowing them down and applying freeze stacks

Weak against witches. Double damage in rain or water. Occasionally charges creepers!

Shocking Grasp - Shoots a low-range burst of electricity

Lightning Bolt - Summons a massive long range burst of electricity

Arc Sprite - Summons an arc whisp that follows the player and attacks mobs, slowing them down and electrocuting them

Mysterious spells of unknown origin.

Magic Missile - Shoots a hostile-tracking projectile that does moderate damage

Dragon Sprite - UNKNOWN ORIGIN AND ABILITIES

Leap - Throws the caster forward in the direction they are looking (Warning: VIOLENT)

Fly - Allows the caster to have creative-mode flight for a duration
