I am so so so sorry if this is a silly question im a 30 year old thats never played games trying to wrap my head around all this for my little one...but we cannot seem to get the lightsabers to ignite? Again apologies if this is a stupid question of not the place for it but wondered if anyone else if having this issue?

Press X (by default), it may conflict with a keybind in the game already, but it should work, (X is also for blaster configuration) :)
In reply to ab5ynth:
oh my word, thank you so so so much, you were completely right, i went to the controls and something was already using 'X' so i just changed it and it worked! I properly appreciate you - you made me and my little human very happy, thank you so much for taking the time to help us! :-D
I see Ab already helped you out, but it's not a stupid question at all! You're actually far from the first parent new to this sort of thing who's contacted us, and we're always happy to help out.
If there is any other trouble, we recommend you contact us through our discord server (essentially an online community space), where we regularly answer such questions. It's also the first place where you'll hear about upcoming content, events, and releases. Hope to see you there, and thank you for your interest!

ah thank you so much, i really appreciate the kind words and the help, am so out of my depth with all this new amazing world me and him are discovering, he's only 6 and was using PS4 but we recently got him his own little gaming PC to delve into the world of MODS and i have bitten off WAY more than i can chew, so having you kind people here to help is properly beautiful, so thank you for the help and direction my friend! :-D
That's awesome to hear, and it's an honor to be part of the formative experiences of one so young! No problem, we're here to help.
Spotted this mod out of the corner of my eye. As the modeller of another star wars mod, I am thoroughly impressed with the models here, you managed to simplify them without losing the complexity and visual identity of each hilt. Big kudos. And those blasters are just plain sexy.

Thanks so much! It definitely took a long time to nail down the right balance and style!
I've got a few ideas:
-Whenever you shoot the lasers on an x-wing, you should make it so that it creates a small explosion and maybe you can also add a custom explosion effect to it
-Instead of using a hyperdrive, you can use a ship to go up into the sky to a very high Y coordinate and slowly the sky turns into space and then the UI pops up to select where you want to go. To go into hyperspace, you can just right click a certain item that costs expensive material to craft, and then you can hyperspace. Also, make an animation for when you are landing on a planet similar to GalacticCraft
-Add some of the Bad Batch armor when you are going to add all of the stormtroopers armor and other cool armors in the history of starwars. It would really spice up the armor aspect of the mod
-Add some pets that you can obtain across the galaxy such as Yoda species, etc. and make sure they are tamable to have the pet-aspect experience
-When/if you add the old vehicles and ships from the original Parzi's Starwars 1.7.10 Starwars mod, please make them much faster/higher speed cause it would really add quicker traverse across planets and it would just be much funner. It would be great if you made most of the ships the same speed of your new X-Wing design on this version.
If you would like for me to give you some more ideas, I'm open to give you guys some if you want me to!

Feel free to join the Discord, we have a whole channel just for suggestions, and love hearing them!
In reply to parzivail:
He did, and he posted them on the same day he posted this lol
I loved this mod back in 1.7.10 and I'm so excited to play it again!
Please make a 1.12.2 version!!
In reply to lukepar3:
We're not backporting to older versions. However, if you or anyone you know is interested in backporting the mod to previous versions or to forge, you're open to doing so (talk to us first).
can you make a 1.16 version? wanna play it with other mods i already have.
In reply to MarkNekrep:
Unfortunately, we've moved past 1.16 to keep pace with the Minecraft release schedule.
Adding onto what Parzi said, if you or anyone you know is interested in backporting the mod to previous versions or to forge, you're open to doing so (talk to us first). However, like he said, we're not going to be porting to other versions ourselves, only moving forward.
Love the idea... like loads...
Told the wife who also plays... I get a shrill "SQUEEE! Yes plz"
So really looking forward to this, but so far only mods I have loaded is this, Optifabric, and Xaero's Maps and I can't change my view other up and down. Mouse movement registers but the view is locked in a single direction. I know it's alpha, so just letting you know--could be me missing something too.
In reply to LostSoul7134:
Glad to hear you're excited! Unfortunately, I don't think we'll be able to support Optifabric, although I can recommend (likely better, for Fabric) alternatives like Sodium (for performance) or Iris (for shaders). If you use Sodium, make sure to also use Indium, which patches Sodium to fix some rendering issues it creates for other mods -- begrudgingly this is a Sodium issue, and we're also waiting for it to be fixed.
Dropping Opti did the trick, running ok so far. I checked out a review of an old version of this and there's mountains more to go to get to that point. Thanks for the tip on Sodium and Iris. I just did the switch over to 1.17.1 because a number of mods are dropping support for the initial 1.17 release and Iris/sodium haven't caught up yet. Still something to look forward to and to compete with Optifine--actually all of this is something to look forward to in the long run. 😉
