This mod adds the whole of prehistoric natural history to Minecraft along with game-play to revive or capture prehistoric life. Well over 1000 accurate prehistoric creatures and plants are included, and you can download separate dimension mods to explore beautiful, fully worked-out multi-biomed dimensions, each representing different periods of earth's prehistory in huge depth and detail. We build all content after in-depth research using the latest scientific publications and our modding team includes paleontological professionals to ensure that concepts, models, textures and behaviours are as accurate as possible.

 

GENERAL MOD OVERVIEW:
When in the game itself, you should use the Palaeopedia item, which is the guidebook to the game and which contains everything you need to know. The Palaeopedia itself can be clicked onto prehistoric life to collect information about it and doing so will unlock more information in the entry for it in the book. The Palaeopedia can also be clicked onto nests to see who owns them. To open the Palaeopedia itself, use shift+click.

ADDITIONAL FOSSILS AND DECORATIONS FOR DISPLAY:

If you would like lovely fullsize placeable, displayable fossils and skeletons from Prehistoric Nature, you will need the addin mod:

We also have this Decorations addin mod, which provides you with several decorative types of blocks such as benches, bridges, barriers, etc. This decorations mod is quite PC-heavy, so just be aware of that if you use it:

Next, in order to allow your game to manage this large mod (and any other large mods you might play), you are advised to configure your Minecraft launcher to apply these JVM arguments. These should fix most lag problems. If you have difficulty, we provide ready help on our Discord channel, linked above, and full help on how to do this is also given in the instruction document, linked above. Please don't be scared by these, as it is really very easy and quick:

Prehistoric Nature itself can be configured and integrated to add mobs and blocks from any other mod at all into its own revival system. We provide help for that on our own Discord channel, linked above. But for simplicity we supply these two simple modpacks which are example installations with everything you need to get going right away:**
1. Purely Prehistoric Nature
2. Prehistoric Nature integrated with Fossils and Archeology**

 

If you still encounter problems with lag or fps, or anything else, please look in the config files for Prehistoric Nature as there are various options to reduce entities or adjust how the game works which may sort you out, and come and ask for help on our Discord server, linked above. The two config files contain just about everything you could want for customising how the mod works.

MOD* INCOMPATIBILITIES:*
VanillaFix appears to want to interfere with AI in this mod, but issues are intermittent and the mod may be acceptable in some installations (it ought to run OK on a client-only if you are playing on a server where it is not installed on the server).
Surge interferes with mob movements, spawning and AI, so that can't be used (it ought to run OK on a client-only if you are playing on a server where it is not installed on the server).

Fossils and Archeology Revival:

 

1. Install the mod, CraftTweaker
2. Inside the "scripts" folder (which should be a folder at the same "level" as your "mods" and "config" ones), put these two scripts:
