Adding a custom emitter


  1. Download and install the NBTEdit mod. You might need it to obtain all the necessary data.
  2. Go to the .minecraft\config\adpother\Emitters folder.
  3. In order to create a new config file based on an existing, open the first found config file in a text editor.
  4. Click the File tab, click Save As.. and save the config file with a new name of your emitter.
  5. Launch Minecraft, load your world and place the block or build the machine you want to set as an emitter.
  6. Make it active (load some fuel, connect the power, etc).

Getting ID of the emitter

  1. Looking at your block, press F3 - on the right side of the screen you will see something like this
  2. Return to your config file and enter these values as the ID parameter

Usually this information is enough, but some blocks do not provide the necessary properties and store their active state data in NBT tags.
To obtain this data, use the NBTEdit mod.

Getting NBT data

  1. Type /nbtedit in the game chat
  2. You'll get a separate window like one of these
  3. Find an active state tag and enter its name in your config as the activeStateTag parameter.

    (The most common names for it are: active, isActive, burnTime, progress, fuel, etc.)

Finally, set the desired emission rates
