This mod adds the new Foundry block which is used to recycle materials.
The recyclable materials are those that can be obtained by melting in the furnace.
If an object is built with recyclable materials then it can be smelted in the foundry to recover the materials of which it is composed.
The non-recyclable parts of an object will be burned and will be lost.
But beware: items containing fuels can cause fire, items containing gunpowder can cause explosions.

1.16.4?
can you disable items containing fuels can causing fire or/and items containing gunpowder causing explosions in the config?
freaking funkiest trailer i've ever seen holy shit
Hello! I'm getting a very strange issue indeed. Or rather, a handful. This is a personal pack I'm constructing myself with 300+ mods so far, so I'm not certain exactly what's going wrong but it sure is something.
1. Sticks are, for some reason, considered recyclable - Smelting things like pickaxes produces the head material and also the correct number of sticks. They are not added anywhere in the config, so I have no clue why the mod thinks it should do this. Leather is treated the same way.
2. Armor is, for an even more confusing reason, treated like stone tools. Smelting iron, gold, or diamond armor of any kind produces 2 sticks and 2-3 cobblestone. I cannot express how perplexing this is.
3. Sticks can be placed in the Foundry and produce Iron Ingots, and more sticks. Each stick produces half an iron ingot and 33% of a stick.
I've been looking through recipes with JEI to absolutely no avail. I have no clue what could have caused any of this and I am in dire need of technical and emotional support. I believe it is most likely that this mod has become sapient and is employing psychological warfare against me. If anyone's encountered similar issues let me know.
I appreciate this mod because it gives me the opportunity to create purpose for other mods that do not have implementations for their mob drops (but the mobs in those mods are done well and so I install them). It is easy to configure and I have never experienced a single glitch with it.
So I'm not seeing an issues page, is this a good place to post bugs and stuff or is there a better spot? Anyway, I just ran into an issue: in a new world I started up, all the iron items I recycled are spitting out tons of diamonds as well as the iron. I had a world using mostly IE and a few other things and it worked fine, but when I switched to one focusing on Botania and Roots 3, apparently all iron items are made with a bunch of diamonds... one iron shovel gave me 7 diamonds, one item (I forget which, I think a shield or maybe iron horse armor?) spewed out 48 diamonds.
I think this is cheat.
From sand 3 pieces of iron turn out.
In reply to xxxLEOPARDxxx:
Check what recipes can produce sand in your game, and likewise trace back their ingredients. You may have some utility recipe that is unexpectedly chaining with another recipe.
Still a useful mod, but I'm encountering a bug in MC 1.12.2, GF 1.3.13.
Stained glass does not melt back into glass. I was able to work around this by specifying all 16 colors of it in the config file under "smelting", but it should be a gimme. While I was at it, I added the colors of glazed terracotta, recipes to convert them back to plain terracotta. This is technically going outside the lines, but it seems a useful feature that's in the spirit of the mod -- you might want to make it a default.
THIS IS AMAZING MOD
Best metod to dont looking for iron.
Only what You need is sapling
From 1 sapling you heave 9 iron.
Is it possible for you to open source this or to communicate with the maker of Advanced Chimneys in order to give them some capatability with one another?
I can't find the config file. The log says i can find it at config/foundry.cfg but the file isn't there.
In reply to qazcetelic:
There is a bug where items that output an item with metadata fails.
For example, taken from giacomosfoundry.log
Does not work, I cannot smelt the enderio boots.
If I add the item to giacomosfoundry.cfg I get this error:
Excellent mod, and as usual it's the first of my recycling methods to come online. I do note one bug: Intact chain armor "smelts" as per the defined recipe, but damaged chain refuses to smelt. I'm guessing the "user-defined" recipe doesn't cover damage handling?
In reply to MentalMouse42:
And another bug: Blood Magic's "lava crystal" (a magic-fed fuel substitute) doesn't work in the Foundry.ETF: Problem was with what I was trying to melt.Hi, I've done the translation of this mod into Spanish, I hope you like it.

PS Mi ha fatto morire il com.polipo u.u
This is a nice mod. However, it would be GREAT if you had more ways of interacting with it. For instance, instead of a hopper above/underneath it adding/draining items, it could have the ability to connect with things such as Ender IO item conduits.
