This mod requires Baubles, and is only useful on a multiplayer server or LAN world. It won't do anything for you in single-player.
Friendship Bracelet is a replacement for server plugins that allow commands like /tpa to teleport to other players, done in a more engaging and fun manner. Instead of just typing in a command, you create a friendship bracelet out of string, an ender pearl, and dyes for coloring the strings . As soon as a bracelet is crafted, it binds itself to the player who crafted it (you can right click to bind it to yourself if the bracelet was made in an autocrafter).
Once your bracelet is bound, you can equip it as a ring bauble or give it to a friend. Whenever you're online and wearing your own bracelet, your friend can hold right click with their copy of your bracelet to teleport to you. Teleporting takes five seconds, then requires a fifteen-second recharge.
To carry many friendship bracelets without using inventory space, you can create a bracelet keyring. This can hold up to six bracelets, and holding right-click on it will let you teleport to the bracelet in the top slot. If you equip a keyring as a bauble, only people whose bracelets are in the keyring can teleport to you. Note that this will be overridden if you have your friendship bracelet equipped.
Have you considered making a version of this mod for Fabric? Would be useful, especially if there was a mode that didn't add any items so vanilla clients could join.
In reply to chexo3:
I have indeed considered making a Fabric version! I should really get around to that...
Apologies if I figure this out later on down the road when I get the time to test things out, but I was wondering if there is a possible config to increase the cooldown timer. I like the teleporting options to get out of sticky situations, but do not like them to be overly abusable.
I am currently working with Hearthstone mod, which does a great job. But I love this idea as well.
It will be some time before I complete my mod pack, and purchase my server in order to give this mod a test, figured it would not hurt asking and seeing if I get an answer before testing things out for myself.
Either way, great and novel idea. Love it!
Hi! I'm looking for something that's basically this exact mod for 1.15.2 forge. I see in the comments that a 1.14 fabric version is in the works, is forge and/or 1.15 planned? If not, I completely understand. But I would definitely use this in my server's modpack if you did have that planned. :) Thanks for reading!
In reply to MissKatu:
Forge is not planned, as I simply don't have the time to re-learn all the new Forge systems. I barely even have time to update it to 1.14, sadly :(
In reply to B0undarybreaker:
That's legit, I totally understand. Thanks very much for your response! I appreciate that you made this, regardless. It's a VERY cool imagining of this function. :D
Hi! :) Do the bracelets have durability? That would be awesome ^^
In reply to B0undarybreaker:
Durability would add more depth to bracelets in survival and the bracelets wouldnt be such an overpowered item ^^
Have you considered porting this to Fabric? Maybe with a version that doesn't require a client mod (using string with an enchantment glint and lore to distinguish it)
In reply to chexo3:
I've been planning to do it for a long while now but haven't really gotten around to it yet. I'll think about a separate plugin version as well.
How do I add a bracelet to the keyring? I'm going mental trying to figure it out :D
In reply to mystykar:
Shift-right-click to open the keyring's inventory.
In reply to B0undarybreaker:
Perfect! TY
In reply to mystykar:
Hey mystykar, check your pms.
Would love this updated to 1.14!!! :)
In reply to insanj:
I'm very excited to update it to 1.14 as well! A friend of mine is working on creating a wearables API to replicate the baubles feature, but once that's done this should be an easy port to Fabric, since it barely uses any Forge features. I'll post it here as soon as it's ready!
In reply to B0undarybreaker:
Who is this friend, and where can I watch their progress?
In reply to chexo376205:
You can watch progress over at the github repo!
Hello, can you give an example of how to create a Friendship Bracelet? How do I type a command? How do you add color? Thanks!!
