Description

Fall Damage Tweak is a Forge mod that makes fall damage depend on entity speed as well as fall distance. In Vanilla fall damage only depends on distance. This works great is most cases, there are however exceptions caused by newer game mechanics:

 

1. A rough landing with an elytra sometimes deals way more damage than it should

2. Animals being lifted up by leads will accumulate fall damage until they touch the ground again and then take a very large amount of damage

 

This mod fixes this by comparing the entity speed to the distance fallen. If the entity is moving slower than the fall distance would imply, it reduces the damage dealt to the entity to an appropriate amount.

 

For free falls the fall damage is unchanged for distances < 256 blocks. For any distance greater than that the damage is reduced because the entity aproaches terminal velocity, but this should never really matter.

 

This mod needs to be on both client and server to work.
