Fabric API is the core library for the most common hooks and intercompatibility measures utilized by mods using the Fabric toolchain.
- Fabric’s APIs are lightweight and modular, making porting faster and game instances leaner.
- Fabric development targets snapshots as well as release versions, allowing earlier mod updates and more informed community planning.
- The Fabric toolchain is available for everyone to use - even if you only want to use some of it!
More infomation and full installation instructions can be found on the Fabric website and support can be found on the Fabric discord server.
This is SEPARATE from the Fabric loader! You need both for most mods! Keep in mind the project requires the Fabric mod loader!
Can anyone help me with this error?
Incompatible mod set!

You're using Fabric API for 1.16 versions. Use Fabric API 1.18 instead
HOLY SH#T WHY ARE SO MANY PEOPLE ASKING FOR 1.12.2 AND STUFF
WHAT MOD DID YOU SEE THAT REQUIRES IT?
WHY DO YOU ASK FOR FABRIC 1,12,2????
IT DOES NOT EXIST!
jesus christ.
In reply to InfernalMailman:
Legacy Fabric knocks on door and waves a 1.3.2 to 1.13.2 sign.
Cursed Fabric also waves it's Beta 1.7.3 sign.

I agree the comments on Fabric on old versions/Fabric on Forge for this Fabric API page are annoying I won't deny that but it does exist and I don't just post info from nowhere and get 14000 views on a Minecraft Forum thread for nothing if the Fabric Discords (of course not everyone uses Discord) are were I get my sources from and I'm the only one that posts updates Youtube or MCForums about this stuff. It exists people just haven't looked in that place.
where is 1.8 fabric api?
In reply to TheMythosDude:
BRO 1.8 DOESNT HAVE FABRIC IT USES FORGE
In reply to arnav_214:
You're completely wrong.
Both Fabric modLoader and Forge modLoader are available for 1.18 versions. Which one you pick/use is up to you and which mods you want to use.
In reply to Els236:
1.8 and 1.18 versions are completely different
In reply to InfernalMailman:
oh my bad.... I didn't realise people still played such old versions of Minecraft. I automatically thought it was a typo for 1.18 x) thanks for pointing that out
In reply to arnav_214:
As a Legacy Fabric dev who's done work on Fabric 1.8 I feel personally attacked.
In reply to PseudoDistant:
Agreed though even as an information sourcer/wiki documenter I'm not surprised.
Sure I should post on Reddit but I did on Youtube and the Minecraft Forums but have those projects to myself for publishing content because no one posts anything on it or are too busy focused on current versions of the game not older.
Some people dig in the Fabric Discords like myself others don't, it's free real estate for me but otherwise it requires more than 1 person to make it more well known in the community and posting 'its a thing' every time I see one of these comments and it not being a case of 'stop focusing on Forge in a Fabric section' responses.
It's why I made the joking tone with the comment below instead of the constant 'this exists' post.
In reply to TheMythosDude:
why do you ask?
is there a mod that requires 1.8 fabric?
In reply to TheMythosDude:
Me walks in, drops link to Legacy Fabric for 1.3.2 to 1.13.2 and Cursed Fabric Beta 1.7.3 releases, wikis, showcases
https://www.minecraftforum.net/forums/mapping-and-modding-java-edition/minecraft-mods/mods-discussion/3028341-legacy-fabric-cursed-fabric-discussion-thread-for?page=7#c199
Drops 2 links for all mods/wikis/downloads in 1 convenient hub
1 for Cursed Fabric Beta 1.7.3 https://modwiki.miraheze.org/wiki/Cursed_Fabric_Mod_HUB
the other for Legacy Fabric 1.3.2 to 1.13.2 https://modwiki.miraheze.org/wiki/Legacy_Fabric_Mod_HUB
Walks away as people are stunned as I'm the one that has free real estate on this content because I look in the Fabric Discords and no other Youtubers/community members (not counting Mod Devs) do.
1.16.5 ?
Forge version?
In reply to writtenrose_VEVO:
Its unique to fabric mod loader.
In reply to writtenrose_VEVO:
Ahahahah
In reply to writtenrose_VEVO:
Bro its called Fabric why do you want a forge version for it? Litereally forge is separated from fabric they cant be together at all not fabric mods + forges and no forge mods + fabric and most importantly no fabric + forge since each one is a separate thing
In reply to chrisafton_ch:
r/woooosh
