📖 About:
Backpacked is not just another backpack mod. Besides what you would expect to be added into the mod, Backpacked provides fun gameplay experiences with advancements like challenges. Completing challenges contributes to the customisation of backpacks; a new system that allows players to personalise their backpack with different models.
Players can share items from their backpack with introduction of pickpocketing mechanics. You must be directly behind a player and in arms reach to access their backpack. Don't worry, this can be customised or disabled completely with the plentiful amount of configuration options. From being able to change the backpack storage size, keeping the backpack on death, and much more!
All menus and models in this mod have been designed to keep the vanilla look and feel, perfect for players who don't want to break the vanilla experience. Backpacked includes support for Curios API (recommended) to provide better compatibility.
✅ Features:
- Provides additional inventory storage for players. Press B to open backpack!
- Customise your backpacks with different models. Complete challenges to unlock more backpacks. Collect them all!
- Pickpocketing mechanics. Share items from your backpack with other players.
- Shelves to stow and display your unlocked backpacks in the world. Supports hoppers!
- Tons of configuration options. Ban items from backpacks, change pickpocketing mecahnics, and more!
- Support for Curios API (Minecraft 1.14 and above) and Baubles (Minecraft 1.12.2)
- Developers can add additonal backpacks with an addon
- Vanilla look and feel with polished menus and models!

What's the default behaviour for having multiple backpacks in your inventory at once? Is it allowed? Can it be disabled? can you even have one in your inventory?
In reply to ThePerfectLink:
Backpack must be on your back to access it. Backpacks can't be unequipped if it has items inside. So no, multiple backpacks aren't a thing. It's too OP.
In reply to MrCrayfish:
I believe this is what people in the business call a poggers move.
More seriously though, any chance that one can make a backpack placeable directly from their back? On the off chance if this person is using curios and has another thing they want to use their back slot for? I mean I suppose one could bring a chest, but it's a tad more cumbersome than simply placing a bag.
In reply to ThePerfectLink:
Shelves are coming in the next update which allows you place backpacks into the world.
Why are my comments being labeled as "spam" for no fucking reason? I'm using proper grammar, I am not repeating the same word too many times, and I'm not making multiple comments in a short amount of time. I'm just trying to make a suggestion.
I love all these backpack designs except the main one with the slanted pixels. That breaks Minecraft's core design.
No slopped edges
Can you please port to Fabric Im sorry if im annoying tho
Can you add an alternate recipe to use leather when you can't find Rabbit pelts? No matter what world I spawn in, I can never find any rabbits to skin.
In reply to nickhanic2021:
Deserts are the best place to find rabbits. Not going to make this mod easier for the lack of knowledge. If you want to change the recipe, just create a datapack that overrides it (that's why they exist).
In reply to nickhanic2021:
You could always use crafttweaker
In reply to IRedcakesI:
What do you think I've been trying to do before coming here. I have no coding experience, no video that gives me any hint on how to even use the mod without having taken coding classes. So what exactly can I do with a mod I've never even used to change the recipe.
In reply to nickhanic2021:
You know, changing recipes doesn't require any coding.
In reply to jer0me226:
Ah, well then, thanks.
In reply to nickhanic2021:
What version do you use?

Ah, thank you.
Help I can't equip the backpack.. can you tell me what's wrong?
Edit: Figured it out, the mod: Beastly Attire was conflicting with this mod.
@Mr. CrayFish
When i try to launch minecraft launcher with "Backpacked" and "Backpacker" mod (mc version - 1.16.5) the launcher automatically crashes!
I tried with other mod to see that if that is my computer problem or not but it loaded successfully! Then I tried again and again to load the game with "Backpacked" and "Backpacker" mod but it crashes again and again!
Please help me!
N.B. Does it require any other mod?
Edit: I figured out that it only crashes with the backpacker mod not the backpacked mod!
How to put Shulker in Backpack?
In reply to james05090201:
By default you can't. You will have to remove it from the banned item list in the config.
Any plans to update Backpacker with the same kind of features? Big fan of the kind of "inventory upgrade progression" older versions of Backpacked and Backpacker made together.
