📖 About:
Backpacked is not just another backpack mod. Besides what you would expect to be added into the mod, Backpacked provides fun gameplay experiences with advancements like challenges. Completing challenges contributes to the customisation of backpacks; a new system that allows players to personalise their backpack with different models.
Players can share items from their backpack with introduction of pickpocketing mechanics. You must be directly behind a player and in arms reach to access their backpack. Don't worry, this can be customised or disabled completely with the plentiful amount of configuration options. From being able to change the backpack storage size, keeping the backpack on death, and much more!
All menus and models in this mod have been designed to keep the vanilla look and feel, perfect for players who don't want to break the vanilla experience. Backpacked includes support for Curios API (recommended) to provide better compatibility.
✅ Features:
- Provides additional inventory storage for players. Press B to open backpack!
- Customise your backpacks with different models. Complete challenges to unlock more backpacks. Collect them all!
- Pickpocketing mechanics. Share items from your backpack with other players.
- Shelves to stow and display your unlocked backpacks in the world. Supports hoppers!
- Tons of configuration options. Ban items from backpacks, change pickpocketing mecahnics, and more!
- Support for Curios API (Minecraft 1.14 and above) and Baubles (Minecraft 1.12.2)
- Developers can add additonal backpacks with an addon
- Vanilla look and feel with polished menus and models!

I went into the config settings to change the backpack size and it didn’t work. I put the columns and rows to the max they can go. Whenever I exit to see the backpack it’s still the same. I’m currently using the 1.18.1 version.

You can't change the size on the client if you are playing on a server. You have to change the common config on the server side for it to work.
Hello! Is there a compatibilty issue with running this mod on a Paper server?
I am using the Forge client, and I have a paper server that I use another mods with no problem on it, but this mod (and the forniture pre29 as well) I can't get it to work.
I can't craft the backpack, but when i pick it up on creative mode, it won't open it and then it vanishes. The forniture mod has the same behavior, can't craft but when picking up on creative, there's no way to plop anywhere.
In a local world that I created everything works just fine.
Thank you!

Just tested on a Vanilla Server with no other mods, and nothing has changed
In reply to CFRANS:
Mods don't work on vanilla servers nor realms. You need a Forge server with the mod installed on the server.
how the hell do you make the storage space bigger
also, add an option in the controls to change the binding for opening
thanks!
In reply to Felix_FTW_:
You can use the common config to customise the size. You can find the keybind to open the menu under Inventory
How do you pickpocket? I'm also having troubles with my progress resetting when I go into other realms, is there a way to cheat progress back in?
In reply to greerbiggie:
Which version of the mod are you using? This was fixed in recent versions (both 1.16 and 1.18). Also just to clarify, different realms means going from the overworld to the nether? If you mean world saves, progress is not shared across world saves.
In reply to MrCrayfish:
I had meant across dimensions to modded dimensions. I am using 1.18
In reply to greerbiggie:
Try the latest update, you'll need to upgrade to 1.18.2
Would it be possible to release an update for 1.18.1 that fixes crash when using Repairman enchantment? Ik it's fixed on 1.18.2 but many people are still stuck with 1.18.1.
Going into different Dimensions causes the skin menu to bug out, it happened with backpacked 2.1.3 on 1.16.5
In reply to JayoWasTaken:
I can confirm this is an issue but your progress should not be lost. If you reload your world, unlocked backpacks will reappear.
How do you pickpocket? I've tried Shift+RMB and it didn't work. And I don't want to punch the trader that I've found.
In reply to IamArchetype:
Make sure you are right behind the wandering trader. The reach distance is not the same for pickpocketing. This can be changed in the config if it too dififcult.
Maybe it's just me, but I can't seem to find info about what the enchantments do and how to get them. Can anyone tell me, or point me to where I can find the info?
In reply to Andi_Erfurt:
Install Enchantment Descriptions mod. Handy for every mod and vanilla enchantments.
I'm using the backpack mod and I put my backpack on a shelf, I then put on my elytra on the back slot, and put the backpack back on using shift m2, i checked my back slot and my elytra was deleted

I'll look into it.
