BSL Shaders is a shaderpack for Minecraft: Java Edition with high customization and optimization. This shader includes realtime shadows, volumetric light, ambient occlusion, bloom, customizable clouds and water, and built in anti-aliasing. Additional effects are available, such as depth of field, motion blur, specular and normal mapping, celshading, world curvature, and more.
NOTICE
Shaders usually work regardless of Minecraft version (since Minecraft 1.7.10), except for 1.13 which is only supported by BSL v7.1 and above. If you're running anything below Minecraft 1.14.3, I still highly advise to use the latest shader version since it's still compatible.
BSL now uses labPBR specular format. For texture artists makes specular and normal maps, get to know labPBR here.

when i go options - video settings there is no shaders option so i can not add the shader. how do i fix this?
In reply to FrostbiteGuyStreblo:
do you have optifine installed and selected from the launcher?
sorry to bother you but would you know how to fix this? when i have your shaders on with one of my texture packs it makes my spiders and cave spiders pitch black and their eyes (and enderman eyes) way too bright. thank you!
with shaders
without shaders

In reply to teesprout:
I'm not sure with this one, but make sure the spider eye texture's background is transparent, not black.
In reply to capttatsu:
that fixed the black thank you so much! the eyes are still very bright but i'm assuming that's the same as mobs glowing so bright that you said you would change
Hey, I'm having problems with the reflections of the water and glass, i had them earlier, but now i cant see the reflections, despite the fact that i have these options enabled. Could you help me out? Cheers, great work on the shader pack
In reply to nathan0236:
Try resetting your shader options.
How do I turn on the water texture? I'm using a texture pack (idk if that makes a difference) and the shaders water looks really nice, but is there a way I can get the texture on top of it as well?
In reply to arottio:
shader options > color > water color > vanilla water ON
how do i turn up the brightness of the shadows
In reply to ytmasterzo:
read the faqs : The shader is too blue / bright / anything else related to color and brightness.
So I really like the shader, its incredibly customisable and better than the other ones I tried. My only issue is that in the dark, whenever I hit a mob, it lights up incredibly bright, which just looks really odd. Ill put a screenshot here. Is there any way to stop this from happening? It just looks a little unnatural. https://imgur.com/a/xxDw5ls
In reply to SquidplumberZ:
I'm having the same issue. BSL is my only mod so I don't know what would be causing this.
In reply to SquidplumberZ:
I'm not planning to give this feature an option, but I'll reduce the glow on hurt entities by ~87% by the next update.
This is fantastic, thank you. And I'm so glad there's an easy fix for Astral and Adv Rocketry. I can't go back to vanilla anymore....
Hey ! Awesome shaders, it's really my favorite of all time! I'm having an issue with a mod called > Fairy Lights <
They lights aren't transparent as they should be and they arent "backlit" as they should be either. They appear very dull with the BSL shader.
In this gallery you can see all the F3 infos you need, first pic is with the BSL shader, 2nd is vanilla with no shader, 3rd is another random shader i found. Screenshots were taken at the same time of day in-game : https://imgur.com/a/xzvgTsT
The orange fairy light hanging from the roof looks 1. Dull 2. Not transparent as it should be. You can look on the 2nd screenshot, taken with no shaders, just the vanilla game, the orange fairy lights is supposed to be opaque on the center and transparent on the outside. With BSL, this transparence on the outside is instead opaque.
The white lantern light hanging from the pink tree : you can see that with another random shader, the lantern appears "backlit", and with BSL it doesnt look like it's emitting any light at all.
is there a way to fix this ? i really don't want to change shaders because i love BSL so much, but it's basically making the mod useless. Thanks a lot !
In reply to Yokiie:
I'm putting this mod to my watch list, I'll check it with other mods when I can. Thanks for the report!
In reply to capttatsu:
Okay! thanks a lot for your work :)
i can't find my shaderpacks folder. im new to downloading mods/packs so im not sure where everything is
At approximately 7687 game time (a bit after noon) the sky turns pitch black and slowly fades back to normal over the course of a few minutes.
Sun is still visible and landscape is still lit up.
Running on MC java 1.14.4, with OptiFine (1.14.4-OptiFine_HD_U_F3). Happens on both Singleplayer and on Multiplayer servers.
Other shaders do not have the same bug. (tested with Sildurs Vibrant Shaders)
