Here is the changelog for PrisonVaults v1.0.9.

PrisonVaults v1.0.9 Changelog

New Features:

  • Built-In Permissions System:

    • Added a fully functional, lightweight permission manager (/pvperm).

    • No external dependencies (e.g., LuckPerms) are required to run the server anymore.

    • Supports Group Creation, Permission Assignment, and Inheritance (e.g., Admin inherits Mod).

    • New file: permissions.yml generated automatically.

  • Punishment Suite:

    • Added moderation commands: /pvkick, /pvban, /pvwarn, and /pvpardon.

    • Rank Protection: Owners and Co-Owners cannot be kicked, banned, or warned by lower-ranking staff.

    • Staff actions are logged to the global Staff Mail system.

  • Overhead Compass HUD:

    • Added /pvcompass to toggle a scrolling BossBar compass at the top of the screen.

    • Displays direction (N, NE, E, SE, S...) based on player yaw.

  • Update Checker:

    • Added an automated checker that queries CurseForge for new versions matching Minecraft 1.21.

    • Notifies Operators on join if a new version is available.

    • Added /pvinfo command to view plugin details, authors, and update status.

Changes & Improvements:

  • Permission Hierarchy:

    • Restructured plugin.yml permissions into a strict hierarchy: Helper -> Moderator -> Admin -> Co-Owner -> Owner.

    • Changed default staff permissions to false (except Owner) to prevent unauthorized access if no permission plugin is present.

    • Added prisonvaults.setstaff to the Co-Owner rank permissions.

  • Command Security:

    • /setstaff is now strictly restricted to Server Operators (OP) via code check, regardless of permissions.

  • Help Menu:

    • Updated /pvhelp to include all new punishment, permission, and utility commands.

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed Kit Abilities: Resolved an issue where "Shank", "MedKit", and other right-click abilities would fire twice (once for each hand), causing double damage or double consumption.

Configuration Changes:

  • config.yml: Added update-checker section for API Key and Project ID configuration.

  • permissions.yml: New file created on startup for the permission manager.

Upgrading from v1.0.8:

  1. Replace the JAR file.

  2. Restart the server.

  3. Add the new update-checker section to your config.yml (or regenerate it) to enable update notifications.
