Apr 21, 2009About the pullout frame, will there be an alternative? I never liked the feature much for Lightheaded either. I'd prefer if there was an option to just have oRA3 as a static pane side by side with the raid pane, with out any animations, or bells and whistles.Posted in: Raid AddOns
Apr 21, 2009I'm not sure if this is the right thread for this, you could have a look in the (albeit confusing) Grid2 subforum, which also contains all the threads for Grid.Posted in: AddOn HELP!
You could go about this by setting the alpha on the frame and background on Grid to 0 (i.e. invisible) and creating your own background frame with KGPanels (it's around here on the site somewhere :p)
Apr 21, 2009On the issue of filtering, the only option i truly miss from EBB2 is a filter for "dispellable" auras.Posted in: General AddOns
I.e. I want to be able to see if my current target has a (in case of friendly target) debuff I can remove, or (in case of hostile target) a buff I can remove.
Admittedly, the case of a friendly target is not really important, as Grid or any other half-decent unitframe covers that for most intents and purposes. It's mostly there for consistency :P The part I really miss is an easy way of telling when i should purge/dispel magic/spellsteal. (Preferably with 1 single profile across all classes)
Now, I expect to be informed that I can set up a Magic filter, which should in most part cover anything dispelable. BUT, target a friendly player in a raid with this set up and your screen is suddenly covered in bars from top to bottom more or less - bad.
Hence my proposal of a dispellable filter that basically compares your class with the hostility of the target filtered through aura type, to show anything you can remove.
I tend to use too many words to describe simple tings, don't I? ;D
Apr 17, 2009A question about oRA3, and forgive me if I have missed this in some earlier post or some other place i should have looked.Posted in: Raid AddOns
Will it implement a zone check? Looking over my use of oRA2, the feature which i actively used the most was the zone check via /razone. I've only seen durability and resistance checks in the current implementation. I think a zone check in addition to these would be appreciated by a few of us users, atleast me if not anyone else :D
edit: nevermind me, just tested last release :p
Apr 17, 2009Posted in: General AddOnsQuote from gagouI won't provide a doublewide to standard bliz questlog, doublewide is already doing it perfectly :) but there is already my own questlog with lightheaded integration (quests informations module if not activated), to show it you just need to click on a quest in the tooltip or the tracker
Seems I was misinformed by the trolls of some other forum that doublewide had been broken by the patch. (I haven't gotten around to test it yet, slacking me.) Although i do really miss k/beql's ability to change the font size of the default quest log in addition to making it double wide.
Fair enough :D
Yes, I do like the quests informations module. What i do not like is that the only way to access the complete quest log through your addon is via an LDB tooltip. Hence the other part of my request: To be able to open a detached version of the tooltip via a keybinding. That, combined with the informations module makes for an even better alternative then doublewide to the default quest log.
So to sum it up:
Detached tooltip + keybinding = profit!
And the classic disclaimer that all this is my personal opionon :p
Apr 17, 2009Hi there,Posted in: Grid & Grid2
I recently took the opportunity to try out Grid 2 on my druid and thought I'd provide some insight into my impression.
Firstly, it should be said that I'm what I'd consider to be an advanced user of Grid, so a lot of how i except Grid 2 to be is based on my current Grid setup.
First impression: Too many numbers!
With textual counter for all three hots, it just becomes too much detailed information, and not very eye friendly. Especially once you shrink the frames down to reasonable size. (The current default size is too large considering the number of them that you need to fit in your screen in a raid.)
I do not think that it is necessary to show Rejuvenation or Regrowth as a textual timer. I currently use a square corner indicator each for these two, and have them switch color as they are about to expire (i.e. one tick left, 3 seconds).
Lifebloom as a textual timer i support fully, with one decimal point even :D
On the topic of decimal points. Even if you show Rejuvenation and regrowth as textual timers, please don't do this with any decimal points. This leads me to request that a textual indicator displaying numbers can use the string length slider to determine decimal points. Ultimately letting the user decide.
Of minor note, I would prefer that the default for Mark of the Wild would be 'show if missing'.
Well, that's all i can think of in my current state of being bored at work.
Apr 17, 2009Are there any plans to modify the blizzard quest log frame?Posted in: General AddOns
I still prefer pressing my L key to access the quest-log, as opposed to mousing over an on-screen icon. So, it often results in me cringing as the horridness of Blizzard's default UI assaults my eyes. (The impossibly small scroll area for listing quests to be precise). Back to the point, my request would be to add something similar to what DoubleWide provides or a keybinding to open a detatched version of the quest tooltip. (Yes, I'm trying to find an alternative to b/keql) :D
Aug 30, 2008e3r posted a message on Yatba - Yet Another Timer Bar Addon - official threadI saw it mentioned in an earlier post, but I'm not sure it was noticed so I'll re-mention it, as I find it pretty important.Posted in: General AddOns
Being able to show Raid Icons for mob grouping, maybe instead of the portrait, would be very nice.
Apr 16, 2008I like the idea of this addon.Posted in: General AddOns
Is there any chance we'll be able to customize the look of it? Preferably with Shared Media support, I would like to be able to adjust the font type and size, and adjust the formating of the time stamp. Also setting custom borders and backgrounds would be nice, but this might be solvable with KGPanels.
