Game Version: 1.1
This mod introduces robotics parts to the game, letting you create moving or spinning contraptions that just aren't possible under stock KSP.
How do I use Infernal Robotics parts?
What does Infernal Robotics let me do?
NOTE: robotics parts in this video came from the http://forum.kerbalspaceprogram.com/threads/65365 Model Rework & Expansion

0.20.0 Changelog
- BREAKING: Field "Coarse Speed" has been renamed in the UI to just "Speed". Will affect all KOS scripts that read or change that field. Field name in part.cfg has not changed, so all existing crafts should load successfully.
- BREAKING: Some Events and Actions has been renamed in the UI, check your IR related kOS scripts.
- BREAKING: Part config fields "maxRange" and "minRange" are now obsolete. There are no reworked or legacy parts that use those two fields.
- NEW: All controllable servos now have Acceleration parameter. As the name suggest it is the rate at which servos speed up or slow down. Default value for legacy parts is 4x.
- Acceleration and Speed are only applied in-flight, in editor parts move at their default speed.
Tip: Lower acceleration allows for smoother movements leading to less wobble, but at the cost of lower speed. - NEW: You can create preset positions for all controllable servos and switch between them in flight and in editor.
- Presets are automatically sorted from lowest to highest
- In editor you can switch between presets either on main Servo Configurator GUI or via Preset Editor
- In flight you can move servo from current position to next or previous preset position via main Servo Controller GUI or using ActionGroups
- You can move servo to arbitrary preset position via Preset Editor window both in flight and in editor.
- For examples on using presets refer to the video overview linked below.
- NEW: Integration into other mods through API
- GUI Redesign
- Redesigned Editor UI to fit most of the relevant fields and actions in one window.
- You can now move individual servos and change their main parameters from single IR window without the need to right-click every servo.
- Redesigned in-flight controls to accommodate all new changes and for better readability.
- All IR in-flight windows now obey F2 command (hide/show UI) and should not get in the way of your awesome screenshots.
- Custom category in editor listing all robotic parts.
- Editor and Flight window width is scaled dynamically.
- Editor window now has an option to revert servo to default position (usually 0).
- You can move servos to precise positions in editor by creating presets and snapping servos to them.
- Position and ranges for inverted axis parts are now shown in different style.
- All buttons now have basic tooltips.
- Whole set of new icons for a polished looks.
- TweakScale configs on Legacy parts have been fixed to work with the latest version of TweakScale.
- Servo sound's pitch now scales with servo's movement speed
yes curse is being annoying and hasnt allowed me to upload the file. Give me a second to fix it.
I have a problem. I liked being able to assign keys to servo movements in the previous version (0.19.3), and set limitations for minimum and maximum range of movement. This version (0.20.0) still seems to have that option, but it just doesn't work. I'll set range limitations under the "advanced settings," and assign keys to move the servo, but those settings don't carry over in flight. The assigned keys will move the servo, but it won't stop at the set limits. Having presets is a good idea and all, but I have vessels that need servos that move arbitrarily within a certain range.
Am I doing something wrong? The video doesn't really explain the advanced settings in depth...
:\
Thanks for the update! ...but I still can't see/access the GUI. The IR button is there but when I click it I see nothing even though the button is highlighted indicating its active. Please help! (Yes, its the only mod running.)
EDIT: No worries, turns out the problem is not IR. Apparently I started with the IR Model Rework & Expansion after I updated IR and it is the Rework that is not working at the moment. I suppose it needs an update now as well.
Hey sirkut, awesome mod! I'm just having an issue with creeping bases. The Powered Hinge 90 Degrees' base rotates a little every time I test rotation with Hydraulic Cylinders attached (trying to make a crane for my Minmus base). The base seems to rotate slightly more if I set rotation limits (min: 0, max: 50 for my crane), rather than leave them as default, but that could just be my shoddy testing. Base rotation happens regardless of whether or not anything is attached to the hinges.
I'm running 19.3 on v0.90 32-bit on Windows 8.
Hopefully this can be resolved, it's getting kind of annoying having to counter the base rotation by changing rotation limits every couple of tests, especially if I stuff up the numbers.
Cheers!
I can' get the servo control to come up in the VAB using 0.19.3 and running 0.90 on a mac. Please Help!!!
after updating to 0.19.3 all the white and orange pivotrons and pistons and that are missing, I've only got the powered hinges and hydraulic cylinder left? also i dont know if its a bug but with the powered hinges when you rotate them back to starting orientating they go past the stopping point and sort of glitch out, making it unusable in most cases.
i love the mod but i can only put one part on because when i do i cant open the menu to make the parts move pls fix it
Hi, sirkut. I really enjoy your mod, but I'm not able to use it. I'm experiencing several bugs that won't allow me to use IR - and, sometimes, the whole game itself. Those are:- All parts are duplicated on my parts list. I already checked for double installing or any file-related problem, but no deal. Tried to reinstall as well.
- If I put any IR part as my vessel's first part, it appears on the construction area, but the camera won't rotate or move. In fact, the game acts like the vessel still has no parts: I'm not able to start a new construction nor save or even exit SPH or VAB. The only way around is loading a vehicle with no IR parts attached and exit.
- I can't attach IR parts to my vessels. I select the part I want, try to put it on a node, it does all the sound effects as if it was all going well, but the part won't appear. Instead, my mouse is still holding the IR part and I'm not able to discard it as well. From this point, everything goes like the last bug: I can't start a new vehicle, I can't exit, I can't move anything on my model.
I checked into KSP.log and found some lines like:
[LOG 18:23:03.261] [SmokeScreen ModelMultiParticlePersistFX] OnDestroy
[LOG 18:23:03.263] [IR GUI] destroy
I have several mods instaled and perhaps it's some kind of incompatibility problem. How can I send you this log file? I'd appreciate you help.
Cheers.
Post a link to the file. ONLY run the game, reproduce the bug. I don't want an entire game's session of log files. If you are seeing duplicates you must have them installed somewhere else.
how can i bring up the servo configurarion when inside the VAB?
I am having the same problem! Trying to build a rover and cannot get to work.
I figured it out. Place an Infernal Robotics part and in the bottom right there is an IR button. Click it.
Profit!
Hello can someone help me?
I cannot see the context menu from right-clicking!!!
I'd have to see a log file to know what is going on. If your game is crashing it is highly unlikely that it is IR that is causing the crash (are you using 64bit?). If it isn't 64 bit you may be running out of memory.
I don't get it! By installing Tweak Scale to make some parts smaller I ruin IR. Everytime i load the craft its name is "Vessel Name" and the IR parts are gone and when i rebuild it and put it at the runway my game crashes! Please help me. What am I doin'g wrong? (Already tried reinstalling)
Great mod. Tweakscale ruins it though. i've had too many bugs to count. can you please add tweakscale functionality to just these parts like B9 does with their parts?
Thanks very much this plus KW rocketry and Interstellar= AWESOMENESS
Do it, you know you want to! :)
This is gonna be madness if i use this >:D
I have a problem. I don't know if it has been taken out or not, or if I did something, but I can't find the non-flat taller hinge. In the download file, it lists HingeTall and HingeND, but they are not in the parts section ingame. I have the other things, but not that one. Could it have been misplaced? Great Mod though.
