838 - Project <--> Forum navigation
What steps will reproduce the problem?
I am on the project page for some mod. I want to go to its forum. I click on the forum tab. Doh, now I have to search.
Workaround: Add to project description. This is ok, but leads to inconsistent implementation. Kudos for the click not opening a new browsing window though.
I am on the Forum page, I want to go to the project. I have to go search projects or navigate to the first post and pray the author put the link there. If they did link then unfortunately it opens a new browsing window.
What is the expected output?
1) I expect an optional project paramater I can set that is the forum link. Yes I can set this somewhere inside my project description, but that just sucks as it is not consistent. It links to the forum and stays in the site without opening a new browsing page. Ideally from the project page, clicking on the Forum tab will at least show the project forum amongst the list of random forums it shows. Better yet, the link shows up somewhere on the page so I can jsut go directly to the forum.
2) On the forum side, perhaps an Author can be given a sticky post, like say the first post that will always float on top before all other posts. Yes people learn to ignore it but it can have valuable information, lnks, breaking news, whatever. I know a few people had this on the old forums. I need it as well. Also, if the link is back to curse, it would be nice if it did not have to open in a new browser window / tab / etc. but in place.

StormFX Sat, 21 Mar 2009 17:03:13For number two, the forums just needs to have the hybrid mode enabled IIRC, if you use the hybrid mode, the original (first) post is alway at the top.
